STRANGER THINGS Season 2 Trailer Debuts During the Super Bowl

Commercials have become as big a part of the Super Bowl as football itself and fans of STRANGER THINGS got their first real look at season 2 of last summer’s sleeper hit Netflix series.

At the end of season 1, young Will had been saved from the mysterious Upside Down world, although it seems he may have brought back one of the creatures that had imprisoned him in that dimension. In addition, Eleven had sacrificed herself to save Will, but her true fate was unknown. Had she been killed forever? Likely not, since breakout star Millie Bobby Brown showed up in a table read photo for the new season tweeted out by the show’s official Twitter account.

Our first look at season 2 (which can be seen below) starts with an old Eggo Waffles commercial before quickly transitioning to scenes from the new season of STRANGER THINGS.

We also know that Sean Astin will be joining the kast as Bob Newby, a former nerd who went to high school with Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) and now manages the Hawkins RadioShack. In addition, Paul Reiser will play Dr. Owens, a Department of Energy employee who is responsible for cleaning up the mess from last year.

STRANGER THINGS will return for its second season on Halloween on Netflix.
