Guys, the next time you think that living with your significant other is hell, thank your lucky stars that you are not the Salvatore brothers.
With only two episodes left before THE VAMPIRE DIARIES ends, the Mystic Fallers roar toward next week’s series finale with a bang.
Eight years ago, Caroline Forbes took one look at Stefan Salvatore and predicted that they would be planning a June wedding.
But, fate stepped in, and it seemed like “true love forever” would be in the cards for Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) instead.
Of course, there were a few hiccups along the road to happily-ever-after… family, death, babies, vampirism, curses, cures and doppelgängers.
There was Damon, who wooed his brother’s true love away, Caroline (Candice King) who fell in love with Elena’s ex, and Katherine (Dobrev as the doppelgänger of epic proportions), who carried the torch for Stefan for over 150 years.
On tonight’s next-to-last episode, those hiccups converge on Mystic Falls in an explosive reveal that Katherine is “alive,” and still burning the torch for Stefan (and maybe a few souls) as the current ruler of Hell.
What better way to draw out an enemy than to dangle irresistible bait? Damon (Ian Somerhalder) concocts a plan sure to bring the brothers’ old flame out of the flames… cement the union between Stefan and Caroline and accelerate the nuptials.
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES also stars Kat Graham, Matt Davis and Michael Malarkey. Melinda Clarke and Joel Gretsch return as Matt’s (Zach Roerig) parents. Eugenia Gonzales, Lily Rose Mumford, Tierney Mumford, Julia Vasi, and Michael David Yuhl also guest star.
The teleplay for tonight’s episode, “We’re Planning a June Wedding” was written by Melinda Hsu Taylor. The story was written by Jen Vestuto and Melissa Marlette. Chris Grismer directed the episode.
