In the same vein as MAKING A MURDERER, TRIAL & ERROR is a documentary-style look at a murder case. Except this version is hilarious.
In the pilot Larry Henderson (John Lithgow) is arrested for killing his beloved wife, Margaret. An eccentric poetry professor, Larry is very into “rollercizing” and insists that he didn’t commit this crime, so his brother-in-law hires a “Northeasterner” (a.k.a. Jewish lawyer) to defend Larry. Enter New Yorker Josh Segal (Nicholas D’Agosto), who heads to this little Southern town to help prep the case for his boss.
TRIAL & ERROR is an amusing look at wacky characters and the legal system, but it’s also a genuine whodunnit. If Larry didn’t kill his wife, as he insists, then who did kill Margaret? According to the behind the scenes preview below, only Lithgow knows who the killer really is and he’s not telling. But every episode reveals more clues as to the identity of the killer. The cast also includes Jayma Mays, Sherri Shepherd, Steven Boyer and Krysta Rodriguez.
