NCIS Sneak Peek: Showstopper

There are far more breakups on NCIS than happily-ever-afters. Gibbs’s (Mark Harmon) record alone could offset most cases of good luck in the nuptially-inclined.

Except for Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) and Breena, there is a dearth anyone hoping for a silver anniversary gift. Director Vance (Rocky Carroll) seemed the best bet on the marriage-go-round until Jackie was murdered.

Ironic, if you consider that David McCallum (Ducky) has been married for 50 years, Harmon for 30 years and Carroll for 20 years. Even perpetual divorcé, Fornell’s portrayer, Joe Spano, has been married for almost 40 years.

On tonight’s NCIS, “Something Blue,” it looks like the team’s wedding bliss track record may be taking a turn for the positive as McGee (Sean Murray) and Delilah (Margo Harshman) count the days until they walk down the aisle.

As the team watches Tim walk the tuxedo catwalk, Delilah tries to extricate herself from the mound of wedding invitations at home.

The wedding posse casts votes (and doubts) on the various formal wear, while Abby (Pauley Perrette) nails an ensemble that is truly “her.”

Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Reeves (Duane Henry) try to out-stud each other as Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) knock back champagne and admire the fashion show.

Gibbs (probably by design) and Palmer have escaped the glamfest by heading out to sea to investigate the death of a young, healthy Petty Officer aboard a Navy destroyer.

Just when it appears NCIS might get its first successful marriage since the Palmers, Delilah collapses and is hospitalized. Whether it is pre-wedding stress or something more devastating affecting the bride-to-be, the NCIS team rallies around McGee to help him cope.

Will Delilah’s collapse be a stop the festivities? I hope not. I kept my Derby hat out of the box to wear for the ceremony.

“Something Blue” was written by Jennifer Corbett & Scott Williams and directed by James Whitmore, Jr. Nick Clifford and Christina Ferraro are among the guest stars.

NCIS airs tonight (May 9) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the U.S. and on Global in Canada.
