The CW Picks Up New Shows BLACK LIGHTNING and LIFE SENTENCE

Less than an hour ago The CW announced that it had ordered the DYNASTY reboot and new military drama VALOR. Now the network has picked up two additional series for the 2017-2018 season: BLACK LIGHTNING and LIFE SENTENCE.

BLACK LIGHTNING will be the third DC show brought to The CW by producer Greg Berlanti. The series revolves around “Jefferson Pierce (HART OF DIXIE’s Cress Williams) [who] made his choice: he hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend — Black Lightning.” Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain, and Christine Adams also star.

Meanwhile, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS star Lucy Hale headlines LIFE SCENTENCE. “When a young woman (Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale) diagnosed with terminal cancer [who] finds out that she’s not dying after all, she has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to ‘live’ like she was dying.” Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Elliot Knight, Carlos PenaVega, Jayson Blair and Brooke Lyons also star in the series.
