SUPERGIRL Sneak Peek: Irresistible Randomizing

Some random logic…If the residents of Wisteria Lane were upset with items that they bought at the Mod Boutique, would they go to Cage/Fish & McBeal to file a lawsuit? And how would The Practice know who was telling the truth?

Those questions probably will not get answered on SUPERGIRL tonight, but here are a few things to consider…

Tonight’s episode is populated with fierce, talented actresses who will show the TV landscape “how it’s done.” These icons are irresistible.

Teri Hatcher and Brenda Strong, two of our favorite DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, guest star as desperate moms Rhea and Lillian Luthor, both of whom want to have in impact on Earth’s future.

In one corner, Queen Rhea of Daxam (Hatcher), plans to turn Earth into her newest conquest. In the other corner, Lillian (Strong), just wants to keep the aliens out of everyone’s backyard (including the yards on Wisteria Lane).

Enter Cat Grant (the fabulous Calista Flockhart returning for the last two episodes of the season) who is less ALLY MCBEAL and more THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA at her deliciously diva-ish self.

Cat cannot understand how, despite the impending reorganization of the planet, how James (Mehcad Brooks) dares store his free-weights in her office. Gotta love it.

And while the Mod Boutique is a thing of WONDER WOMAN’s past, WW’s Lynda Carter, now President Oliva Marsdin, seems to have her loyalty split. POTUS may be the most powerful office on Earth, but what about the universe?

Is she siding with Rhea for the only opportunity for job growth above her current position? Must they hook her up to a lie detector, invented by the creator of WONDER WOMAN, William Moulton Marston, to ferret out her motive?

So, as Winn (Jeremy Jordan) has the unenviable task of directing Cat on camera (as much as she can be “directed”) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) tries to run the DEO in J’onn’s (David Harewood) absence, is there anyone who can save the world from its conundrum?

Did someone say SUPERGIRL (Melissa Benoist)?

Somebody get David E. Kelley on the horn. Not only did he produce ALLY MCBEAL, ratings juggernaut, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES ushered in his McBeal crossover/THE PRACTICE spinoff, BOSTON LEGAL, each week to success in its own right. And he produced the failed WONDER WOMAN pilot for NBC in 2011. But we suspect he was a year ahead of his time.

Besides being married to Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), Kelley also hired SUPERGIRL Executive Producer, Andrew Kreisberg, as a producer/writer on BOSTON LEGAL.

Must…resist…further…randomizing…

SUPERGIRL also stars Floriana Lima, Katie McGrath and Chris Wood. Tonight’s episode, “Resist,” was written by Jessica Queller & Derek Simon and directed by Millicent Shelton.

SUPERGIRL airs tonight (May 15) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW in the U.S. and on Showcase in Canada.
