THE GOSPEL OF KEVIN: First Look at ABC’s New Biblical Comedy Series

Kevin Flynn is a big shot investor from New York City when THE GOSPEL OF KEVIN begins. But his life is on a downward spiral after he lost one of his clients a lot of money. After calling on his twin sister, Amy Flores, for help, she brings him to her house outside of Austin, Texas. Amy is a newly widowed mother of a 14 year old daughter, Reese, and the two of them are also going through a tough time.

One night, NORAD summons Amy to their headquarters and asks her to investigate the source of dozens of meteor-like impact craters detected all over the globe. But these are no ordinary meteor strikes, so NORAD is worried they could be the result of a military attack or the testing of a dangerous new weapon.

That same night, Kevin and Reese see a meteor crashing into a nearyby field and Kevin touches the object left behind. Just before he blacks out from the resulting explosion, he hears the words “transform yourself”. When he wakes up, the meteor has transformed itself into Yvette, an otherworldly being who claims she is a Messenger from God.

Yvette explains that thirty-five righteous souls, who protect the world just by existing, have disappeared; Kevin must find and anoint thirty-five more righteous souls while she finds out what went wrong.

But Kevin is a nonbeliever. While he tries to figure out what’s going on, Yvette begins his spiritual training and tells him he’ll need to keep this secret to himself. While NORAD is looking into Kevin’s strange behavior, whoever altered the original righteous beings from losing their faith could be plotting to stop Kevin from fulfilling his sacred mission to save the world.
