The 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs: Go Behind the Scenes with Imagine Dragons, Kat Graham, Darren Criss and More!

While DNCE lead singer, Joe Jonas and Brampton, Ontario native Alessia Cara brought their star power as co-hosts of this years iHeartRadioMMVAs, the press room was a revolving door of celebs.

Fresh off her win that night for Best Hip Hop video (and the first win for a female in this category) Tasha The Amazon was humble yet confident as she addressed the press, while Shawn Hook talked about his recently released EP, My Side of Your Story. The record was a labour of love for the Canadian artist who described his new music as “emotional” and “hard work.”

DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION alum, Shenae Grimes-Beech, will be back on TV this fall co-starring in the new crime drama, DETAIL. Triple-threat actress/singer/dancer Kat Graham known for her role as Bonnie Bennett in the now cancelled series THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, co-stars on the big screen in the film, All Eyes On Me, about the life of slain rapper Tupac Shakur. Graham who worked with producer Babyface on her new record, described her past musical endeavors as “surface.” Her new disco record is entitled, Love Music Funk Magic.

As the former co-star of the Disney Channel show LIV AND MADDIE, Dove Cameron showed her flower power in a dress that was ripe for the summer. Next up for Cameron is reprising her role as Mal in Descendants 2, the sequel to the 2015 TV movie Descendants.

When asked by a reporter what the worst part of touring with each other was, Imagine Dragons’ lead singer Dan Reynolds jokingly said, “You’re trying to break up the band.” Reynolds then got serious and discussed the difficulties of being a father to young kids while on tour. “I have seven-week-old twins and a four-year-old girl and that’s been hard for me,” he confessed. “But I’m going to bring them out for a lot of the shows on the road.”

Also in attendance in the press room was actor Darren Criss, YouTube personality Tyler Oakley, comedian Jus Reign and model Martha Hunt.
