NCIS Sneak Peek: Style, Substance, Sadness and…SUPERNATURAL?

Yes, the rumors are true. Pauley Perrette, aka Abby Sciuto, will be leaving NCIS at the end of this season. Perrette brought sadness to fans everywhere when she announced her departure via Twitter on October 4. The actress reportedly has been planning her departure for several months.

Perrette, a New Orleans native, studied at New York’s prestigious John Jay College of Criminal Justice. As smart as she is gorgeous, Perrette’s knowledge of criminal justice gives her quirky character substance while her personality gives her style.

Another woman with style and substance guest stars on tonight’s NCIS episode, “Exit Strategy.”

Susan Blakely, Perrette’s co-star in two non-NCIS projects, TO COMFORT YOU and PRIDE, guest stars as Ducky’s (David McCallum) friend, Cadence Darwin.

Reportedly described by renowned film director, Stanley Kubrick (2001: A SPACE ODESSY, THE SHINING) as “one of the ten best actresses in the world,” Blakely’s character will be presenting the venerable doctor with a new opportunity during his guest lecture series.

Now, a personal admission…Longer ago than I care to admit, my friends and I all wanted to grow up to be Susan Blakely. She was elegant, beautiful and had the best smile.

We sneaked to watch RICH MAN, POOR MAN to see her, risking the wrath of our parents, although we were not old enough to understand the plot. A few years have passed, and we are able to watch the elegant Susan Blakely tonight on NCIS, thankfully without being grounded.

There will be another fun guest star for us SUPERNATURAL fans on tonight’s NCIS. GHOSTFACERS’s Harry Spangler, (Travis Wester) appears as Metro P.D. Detective Miles Higgins.

Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Higgins go on a stakeout as port of a joint operation. When Higgins mysteriously vanishes, the subsequent investigation leads NCIS to uncover new evidence from a decade-old murder.

Tweaking the “irony button” just a bit, Spangler…uh, Higgins… is caught on video talking to deceased Metro P.D. Detective Michelle Lane (Lauren Stamile). Guess he is just adept at talking to ghosts.

All that bundled into an action-packed episode…and don’t forget about the kidnapped child. Say what?

Jack Conley returns as gruff Metro P.D. Detective Danny Sportelli. Carter MacIntyre, Coley Mustafa Speaks, Amy Letcher, Alexander Davis, Adam Faison, Tyler Lueck and Megan Sheenan also guest star.

“Exit Strategy” was written by Christopher J. Waild and directed by Terrence O’Hara.

NCIS airs tonight (October 10) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS (U.S.) and Global (Canada).
