The CW Teasers: A SUPERNATURAL Spin-Off, a Big Discovery on ARROW and More

What’s coming to The CW the week of January 15? That Monday marks the end of the winter hiatus and the return of brand new episodes for most of the network’s fall/winter shows. In addition, the new DC/CW series BLACK LIGHTNING will be premiering. Over on SUPERNATURAL, the show will be airing a backdoor pilot for a potential new spin-off, while Brainiac-5 will be making an appearance on SUPERGIRL. And Oliver will be making a shocking discovery about Cayden James on ARROW.

Monday, January 15

SUPERGIRL 3.10 “Legion of Superheroes”: Struggling to heal from her injuries inflicted by Reign (Odette Annable), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) remains in a dreamlike state, unable to be reached. Mon-El (Chris Wood) recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5 (guest star Jesse Rath), to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Derek Simon & Eric Carrasco.

VALOR 1.11 “Command & Control”: When Col. Haskins (Nigel Thatch) chooses Nora’s (Christina Ochoa) plan over Gallo’s (Matt Barr), the tension between them reaches a boiling point. Charlie Barnett, W. Tre Davis and Corbin Reid also star. Shamar S. White wrote the episode, directed by Lee Rose.

Tuesday, January 16

THE FLASH 4.10 “The Trial of The Flash”: As Barry’s (Grant Gustin) trial for the murder of Clifford DeVoe begins, Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must decide how far they are willing to go to keep Barry out of prison. Philip Chipera directed the episode written by Lauren Certo & Kristen Kim.

BLACK LIGHTNING 1.01 “The Resurrection”: Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Ann McClain), and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe-haven for young people in a neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero in his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning, but he left the Superhero days behind. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. Christine Adams, James Remar, Damon Gupton and Marvin Jones III also star. The episode was written and directed by Salim Akil.

Wednesday, January 17

RIVERDALE 2.10 “Chapter Twenty-Three: The Blackboard Jungle”: Tensions mount when the sudden shut down of Southside High forces Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and his fellow serpents to transfer to Riverdale High. Veronica (Camila Mendes) ensures Hiram (Mark Consuelos) and Hermoine (Marisol Nichols) that she’s still on board with their plans for SoDale. Archie (KJ Apa) is conflicted when he is asked to gather some information on Hiram’s suspicious business dealings. Betty (Lili Reinhart) sets out on a quest to find her long-lost brother, Chic (guest star Hart Denton). Madelaine Petsch, Madchen Amick, Luke Perry, Ashleigh Murray, Skeet Ulrich and Casey Cott also star. Tim Hunter directed the episode written by Britta Lundin & Brian E. Paterson.

DYNASTY 1.10 “A Well-Dressed Tarantula”: Cristal’s (Nathalie Kelley) efforts to mend her fractured marriage are complicated when a dangerous newcomer threatens to destroy everything she and Blake (Grant Show) hold dear; Meanwhile, Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) celebrates her golden birthday and gains control of her trust, forcing her to think about more than just what size champagne bottles to serve at her party. Rafael de la Fuente, Sam Adegoke, James Mackay, Alan Dale and Robert C. Riley also star. Adele Lim wrote the episode, directed by Kenny Leon.

Thursday, January 18

SUPERNATURAL 13.10 “Wayward Sisters”: When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) go missing, Jody Mills (guest star Kim Rhodes) calls Claire Novak (guest star Kathryn Newton), the rebellious rogue hunter, and tells her it is time to come home – they need to find the Winchesters. Claire returns and reunites with Alex Jones (guest star Katherine Ramdeen), who has stayed behind with Jody and tries to balance a “normal” life with being a part time hunter. While Jody is happy to have Claire home again, she’s plagued by Patience’s (guest star Clark Backo) disturbing vision involving her adopted daughter. Claire and Alex search for Kaia Nieves (guest star Yadira Guevara-Prip), the dreamcatcher responsible for opening the rift that Sam and Dean went through, as she holds the key to their whereabouts. Jody calls her friend, Donna Hanscum (guest star Briana Buckmaster), to round out the team and the women head off on the most important hunt of their lives. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Robert Berens and Andrew Dabb.

ARROW 6.10 “Divided”: Despite losing half his team, Oliver (Stephen Amell) remains confident that he, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (David Ramsey) can stop Cayden James (guest star Michael Emerson) and Black Siren (Katie Cassidy). However, when he discovers one of Cayden’s secrets, he decides to team up with an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) spends time with Vince (guest star Johann Urb). James Bamford directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.
