The doctors deal with a medical mystery and an ethical dilemma problem on this week’s CHICAGO MED.
Dr. Choi’s faced with a complicated ethical issue when his patient, a young woman, comes into the emergency department presenting with symptoms that indicate she may HIV. When she refuses to take the test and confirm, he takes the issue to Goodwin for help talking over alternatives. But when the topic of hospital resources come up, Goodwin and Dr. Choi are put in a tough position that’s becoming familiar for the hospital.
While there’s an ethical issue in the ED, Dr. Manning and Dr. Halstead find themselves treating a young girl with paralysis that only seems to get worse rapidly. With time seemingly running out and no definite diagnosis from either doctor, things get unexpectedly more difficult when they discover that there’s a chance that one of the doctors may be dealing with a similar issue.
Elsewhere on CHICAGO MED, Noah deals with a hard first as a resident and Reese’s security fears continue to grow.
Watch CHICAGO MED tonight (January 2) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
