Benedict Cumberbatch is starring in PATRICK MELROSE, a new Showtime limited series based on the semi-autobiographical novels written by Edward St. Aubyn. The five-part series tracks Patrick from his traumatic childhood through his perid of adult substance abuse and, finally, his recovery.
Patrick grew up suffering from abuse at the hands of his horrible father (behavior that his mother tacitly condoned). Now an adult, Patrick tries to deal with his childhood by being addicted to narcotics. Each of the five episodes is devoted to one of the five novels. The show also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hugo Weaving, Blythe Danner and Allison Williams and takes place in the South of France in the 1960s, New York in the 1980s and Britain in the early 2000s.
PATRICK MELROSE will debut later in 2018.
