DECEPTION: An Illusionist Fights Crime in ABC’s New Series

Can an illusionist help the FBI solve crimes? That’s the premise of ABC’s new action comedy series, DECEPTION. When we first meet Cameron Black, he’s on the top of the magic game. He’s headlining a show in Las Vegas and has had numerous television specials. But, one night, something goes terribly wrong and Cameron’s career goes down the drain. He’s convinced that someone (another illusionist) ruined his career and he spends the next year jetting around the globe trying to find this other magician and get his life back.

One day, he turns on the television to realize that a group of FBI agents were the victims of an illusion — one that resulted in the escape of a drug cartel member. So Cameron heads over to the crime scene and introduces himself to the lead agent, Kay Daniels. He’s convinced that the person behind her disappearing criminal and the person who ruined his life are one and the same and he offers up his services as a master at deception to help her find her fugitive. Kay’s partner, FBI Agent Mike Alvarez, is thrilled to meet the great Cameron Black and loves magic, but Kay is less than enthusiastic. Still, she accepts Cameron’s help to find the man she’s been tracking for years. When Cameron proves his worth as an asset, he brings in his team of magical trick designers and engineers to help, and the group sets up shop inside the FBI. Now they’re helping Kay and Mike and trying to track down the mysterious female illusionist that managed to trick Cameron.

DECEPTION premieres tonight (March 11) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
