NBC Orders NEW AMSTERDAM To Series

NBC has ordered its first new pilot to series: NEW AMSTERDAM (formerly known as BELLEVUE).

The series is inspired by Bellevue hospital, which is the oldest public hospital in America. The show follows Dr. Max Goodwin (played by Ryan Eggold), the hospital’s new medical director. In a hospital used to doing things the way they’ve always been done, everyone is surprised when Goodwin tears up the bureaucracy in order to provide excellent medical care. Understandably, the other doctors and staff are skeptical — after all, the’ve heard all of this promise for change before. But Goodwin is determined to restore this understaffed and underfunded hospital to its former glory.

NBC will present its fall schedule in another week and we’ll get an indication of when NEW AMSTERDAM will be airing soon.
