Nathan Fillion (formerly of CASTLE) is returning to ABC in a new series that the network has officially picked up for the 2018-2019 season: THE ROOKIE.
Fillion stars as John Nolan, a man pursuing his dream of becoming an LAPD after after a life-altering incident. But he’s the force’s oldest rookie, which means that others in the department think he’s just a “walking midlife crisis,” according to the network. “But if he can use his life experience, determination, and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life.”
The cast also includes Afton Williamson, Eric Winter, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Titus Makin, Alyssa Diaz and Mercedes Mason. Alexi Hawley, who also worked on CASTLE and THE FOLLOWING, will serve as the executive producer.
