CBS has ordered two comedies for the 2018-2019 season. The first, from Cedric the Entertainer, is titled WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD. It focuses on the nicest guy in the Midwest who moves to a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles where not everyone appreciates his friendliness. Cedric plays the main character’s next-door neighbor, Calvin. The cas also includes Sheaun McKinney, Tichina Arnold, Dreama Walker, Marcel Spears and Hank Greenspan.
The network also picked up Damon Wayans Jr’s untitled pilot, which is inspired by a time when he and pop star Harry Styles lived together. Styles will serve as an executive producer on the series. Wayans plays Peter who, along with his wife Claire, start to reconnect with their younger selves when an emerging pop star moves in to their house.
