Fox is weirdly the cancellation axe today. Following the news that the network had cancelled THE LAST MAN ON EARTH is the news that two other comedies will not be returning next season: BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and THE MICK.
After going on a hiatus for several months, the Andy Samberg-led BROOKLYN NINE-NINE has been averaging 1.9 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating. The May 20 season finale – now series finale – will feature the wedding of Jake and Amy.
Meanwhile, THE MICK, starring Kaitlin Olson, will come to an end after only two seasons. The show aired its series finale on April 3 and it featured one of the characters in critical condition after being struck by lightning – a heck of a cliffhanger that will now never be resolved.
