ABC Renews FRESH OFF THE BOAT, FOR THE PEOPLE & STATION 19; Picks up THE FIX to Series

ABC is doling out renewal and cancellation news like crazy today. The latest renewals are FRESH OFF THE BOAT, FOR THE PEOPLE & STATION 19

FRESH OFF THE BOAT has been renewed for its fifth season and has averaged a 1.0 demo rating and 3.8 million total weekly viewers this year.

FOR THE PEOPLE stars Britt Robertson, Hope Davis, Ben Shenkman, Jasmin Savoy, Susannah Flood, Wesam Keesh, Rege-Jean Page, Ben Rappaport, Anna Deavere Smith and Vondie Curtis-Hall as a group of lawyers practicing in the Federal Court of New York as prosecutors or defense attorneys. The show was created by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Tom Verica and debuted in 2018 and will return next year for season 2.

STATION 19 debuted as a spin-off of the long-running GREY’S ANATOMY and is averaging a 1.1 demo rating and 5.4 million weekly total viewers (in Live+Same Day numbers), behind only GREY’S and THE GOOD DOCTOR in the network’s dramas.

ABC also picked up the new legal drama THE FIX, created by Marcia Clark (yes, the prosecutor from the O.J. Simpson trial). Robin Tunney stars as Maya Travis, a Los Angeles District Attorney who suffers a terrible defeat when prosecuting A-list actor Sevvy Johnson (Lost‘s Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje) for a double murder (yes, this story was clearly inspired by Clark’s own experiences). After Maya departs Los Angeles, she returns 8 years later when Sevvy is under suspicion for another murder. Adam Rayner, Merrin Dungey, Breckin Meyer, Marc Blucas, Mouzam Makkar, Alex Saxon and Scott Cohen also star.
