The penultimate episode of SUPERNATURAL gave Sam and Dean a win: they managed to bring Mary and Jack back home, along with several alternate universe versions of people they know, including Bobby and Charlie. And while Gabriel sacrificed himself so that the brothers and the rest could escape Apocalypse World, the boys unknowingly face an immient threat: Lucifer and alternate universe (AU) Michael are teaming up to open a rift to their world.
Lucifer is determined to be reunited with his son, while AU Michael wants to conquer a new world. Michael will be heading to the Winchesters’ universe in the season finale, as you can see from the preview below. There’s been an indication that Dean in particular will make a bold choice in order to defeat Michael and Lucifer (as hinted by the fact that he seems to be *flying* in the preview).
