Gillian Flynn’s novel “Gone Girl” was made into a rather excellent film. Now another of her books, “Sharp Objects” is coming to HBO as a limited series. BIG LITTLE LIES alum Jean-Marc Vallee, Flynn and Marti Noxon (BUFFY, DIETLAND) are coming together for this 8 part series, starring Amy Adams.
Adams plays Camille Preaker, a reporter who returns to her hometown to investigate a string of murders involving young girls. As is always the case in these types of situations, the investigation starts hitting a bit too close to her own past. A past that seems to involve her overbearing mother, playing by Patricia Clarkson.
SHARP OBJECTS premieres July 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
