Amazon at Comic-Con: First Look at HOMECOMING, Casting News for GOOD OMENS and JACK RYAN and More!

There was a great deal of news coming out of Amazon’s large showrunners panel recently at Comic-Con and we’re gathered it all together for you below.

HOMECOMING stars Julia Roberts as Heidi Berman, a caseworker at the Homecoming Transition Support Center who helps soldiers transition back to normal life. One of the soldiers that she helps is Water Cruz (Stephan James), a man eager to move on to the next phase in his life. Four years later, Heidi has started a new life, living with her mother (Sissy Spacek) and working as a small-town waitress, when a Department of Defense auditor (Shea Whigham) comes to her with questions about why she left the Homecoming facility. The show also stars Bobby Cannavale, Jeremy Allen White, Alex Karpovsky and Dermot Mulroney. The series will premiere on Friday, November 2 on Prime Video.

Meanwhile, JACK RYAN has already been renewed for a second season (watch a preview of the series) and it has been announced that next season “Noomi Rapace will play Harriet ‘Harry’ Baumann, a highly capable, sharply intelligent and intoxicatingly charming BND agent (Germany’s Secret Intelligence) who crosses paths with Jack Ryan in South America.”

In addition to the premiere date for HOMECOMING, it was also announced that season 2 of LORE would debut on Friday, October 19 on Prime Video.

As Amazon adapts Neil Gaiman’s book, it was announced that Frances McDormand will lend her voice to the series as “the voice of God” in the GOOD OMENS series. The streaming service also released a behind the scenes look at the new show. “The End of the World is coming, which means a fussy Angel and a loose-living Demon who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon. But they have lost the Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy unaware he’s meant to bring upon the end of days, forcing them to embark on an adventure to find him and save the world before it’s too late.”

Finally, Amazon also released a video from THE EXPANSE cast who are thanking fans for saving their show from cancellation (a new season will debut on Amazon Prime Video in 2019) and shared a behind the scenes look from season 2 of THE TICK.
