Netflix and CBC have announced the renewal of the series ANNE WITH AN E. Airing on CBC in Canada and on Netflix internationally, the show is “inspired by the timeless Canadian novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery, [and the third season] will continue to tell the coming-of-age story of an outsider who, against all odds and numerous challenges, fights for acceptance, for her place in the world, and for love.” Executive producers Moira Walley-Beckett and Miranda de Pencier will return for season 3.
The renewal comes shortly after the US and international debut of the series’ second season on Netflix in July, and just ahead of the Canadian premiere of season two on CBC on Sunday, September 23 at 7 p.m.
