Nic and Conrad will get some much needed bonding time when THE RESIDENT returns for its second season. Despite going through some rocky times in season 1, the couple seem much more stable now as season 2 begins. In the clip above you’ll see the pair enjoying some downtime together — some sexy downtime that involves a private shower in a doctor’s locked office. Sadly, that experience is interrupted by Conrad’s pager.

As Nic and Conrad were getting it on, we saw a storm raging outside the hospital. In the clip above you can see that the storm has knocked out the hospital’s power system, which threatens all of the patients, including a tiny baby that’s being operated on by Mina and AJ. You also see Bell watching the news about Lane Hunter, who could face the death penalty for what she was doing to patients last season.
In the third clip from the season premiere we see that Bell has convened the hospital’s department heads to discuss how to handle the storm and the power failure. It’s especially bothersome because the other major hospitals in town are still functioning. But Conrad interrupts the meeting with some particularly bad news — their generators are close to failing for the people on life support.
