SINGLE PARENTS Sneak Peek: It Takes a Village to Raise Children

Parents have it tough, but single parents have it even harder. ABC’s new comedy SINGLE PARENTS centers around five single parents who bond and try to help each other out — with babysitting, carpools, dating tips and more. There’s Douglas Fogerty (played by Brad Garret), a dermatologist widow raising twin girls who uses his money to buy whatever he wants, including his daughters’ teacher. Angie D’Amato (played by Leighton Meester) is leader of the group who wants to protect her son from having his heart broken by his young crush. Poppy Banks (played by Kimrie Lewis) always encourages her fashion-conscious son to be himself, even when he’s afraid he might get teased for being different. And Miggy Park (played by Jake Choi) is a 20 year old single father with an infant who can’t seem to understand how this is is life now.

The four parents are always eager to help one another deal with the rigours of being single parents and one day they meet Will Cooper (played by Taran Killam), a single father who seems to have focused all of his attention and energy on his daughter, her Halloween costume, decorating for Christmas, and volunteering for the PTA. As Angie and the others try to set Will up on a date so they can avoid his pleas for them to volunteer at the school, they all learn a little something about how it “takes a village” to raise a child.

SINGLE PARENTS premieres on Wednesday, September 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
