Today HBO announced that the upcoming third season of TRUE DETECTIVE will premiere on Sunday, January 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The remainder of the season will air on Sunday nights at the same time.
The upcoming third season “tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods,” according to HBO. Mahershala Ali stars as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas. Carmen Ejogo and Stephen Dorff also star in the new season.
