RIVERDALE is tackling another spring musical and this time they’re doing “Heathers: The Musical”. After the show had the students put on a version of “Carrie: The Musical” last season, Cheryl Blossom will step into the role of Heather Chandler, the nastiest of the Heathers.
The musical episode of RIVERDALE will air on Wednesday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m. on The CW and will feature nine songs. In the 1989 film, the fictional Westerberg High is ruled by a trio: Heather, Heather and Heather. Enter misfit Veronica Sawyer, who rejects the ladies and their evil regime for her new boyfriend – J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place (and six feet under).
“Last year, we had a blast doing ‘Carrie.’ This year, we wanted to honor another iconic teen movie. ‘Heathers: The Musical’ is BIG FUN, with great roles for the Riverdale kids,” said executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “And everyone is singing…”

This will be when she breaks the news to Kevin Keller in episode 3.15 (airing March 13) that the spring production will be “Heathers: The Musical” and that he’ll be directing it.
