Mark Consuelos’s real life wife, Kelly Ripa, is making a guest appearance on RIVERDALE this week as Hiram Lodge’s mistress, Ms. Mulwray. With the town’s kingpin laid up in the hospital, Veronica asks Jughead to investigate her father’s shooting and this eventually leads to a face-to-face meeting with Ms. Mulray. During a visit to the set of RIVERDALE in the fall, both Mark Consuelos (Hiram Lodge) and Marison Nichols (Hermione Lodge) gave us a few teasers about this guest appearance.
Nichols hinted that the knowledge of this mistress, for Hermione, won’t be “as shocking as you might think. I don’t wanna reveal too much but it’s … how can I say this? Not surprising, and [Hiram and Hermione] have a very interesting relationship.” She also made it clear that the Lodges are “they’re in a loveless marriage. They’re obviously in a business relationship kind of marriage.”
As for what it was like to work with his wife on RIVERDALE, Consuelos said “I’m really excited about her coming on the show…she’s great. She’s always great to work with. It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a chance to work together but I’m looking forward to it.
Elsewhere in this week’s episode, Betty will team up with someone to piece together clues about a series of deaths in the town, while Archie — who continues to spiral — sets out on a new path. RIVERDALE airs Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
