NCIS Sneak Peek: Master Class

Aspiring actors…tune in to NCIS tonight for a free master class in your craft. Returning in tonight’s episode, “Bears and Cubs,” are three veterans who make an impact with the smallest acting choice…a sly smile…a raised eyebrow…a slight hand movement…so many things that every actor starting out should learn to progress in his field.

They are masters of nuance.

David McCallum returns when Ducky’s travels bring him back to the D.C. area and NCIS Autopsy. Naturally, Palmer (Brian Dietzen) is a bit apprehensive after being the main doc for months while Ducky was away. Watch for some expert interaction and reaction as the two medical examiners face some growing pains in their relationship. Robert Wagner is back as Anthony DiNozzo, Sr. The 89-year-old Wagner brings almost 70 years of talent and experience to the screen and not a movement nor an inflection is wasted. Newbies, watch and learn how to get the maximum return on investment in a throwaway line. Lastly, Larry Miller returns as Ed Slater, Palmer’s insufferable father-in-law. Miller, arguably, was the second-funniest person ever to have appeared on LAW & ORDER (because no one ever could out-funny Jerry Orbach). And Miller will make you laugh out loud with his iTunes podcast, LARRY MILLER SHOW.

Palmer’s stress level will be nearing warp drive when Ed asks him to tamper with evidence from NCIS’s current murder investigation. The situation spirals when Senior, one of Ed’s poker buddies, offers to help with the case. Looks like the audience has drawn a straight flush. Many happy returns on investment!

Other guest stars include Francois Chau, Ping Wu, Stephen Caffrey, Jacob Zachar, Connie Jackson, E-Kan Soong, Alexandra Bokyun Chun, Cecile Cubilo, Shea Vaughn-Gabor and Jason Marrs. “Bears and Cubs” was written by Scott Williams and directed by Diana Valentine.

NCIS airs tonight (Match 12) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the U.S. and on Global TV in Canada.
