In the week leading up to Upfronts, news comes fast about which pilots have officially been picked up to series. Today we learned that The CW has picked up three new shows for the 2019-2020 season: BATWOMAN, KATY KEENE and NANCY DREW,
BATMAN, starring Ruby Rose, was first introduced as the latest DC comics spin-off in the most recent Arrowverse crossover at the end of 2018. With ARROW ending next season, it will ensure that the universe continues. Meanwhile, KATY KEENE, starring Lucy Hale, is a spin-off of RIVERDALE set in New York City. Finally, NANCY DREW, starring Kennedy McMann and based on the novels of the same name, has also been ordered to series.
The CW recently renewed all of its existing shows. JANE THE VIRGIN and iZOMBIE are currently airing their final seasons, while CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND aired its season finale recently. In addition, ARROW and SUPERNATURAL are both coming to an end next season.
