NCIS: NEW ORLEANS Sneak Peek: Season 6 Premiere Is A Gas

Autumn has arrived in the Crescent City, and over 500 events are scheduled in the Big Easy this week according to the NOLA city calendar. Besides the usual “things to do” list of jazz, food, parades and celebrations, the team at NCIS: NEW ORLEANS is navigating through its own sea of events.

Pride (Scott Bakula) still is dealing with the mental strain of last season, including his promotion to Regional SAC, the aftereffects of the Apollyon case, almost dying and the loss of his father. Perhaps the whirlwind of emotions has prompted his search for consistency in the form of JAG attorney, Rita Devereaux (Bakula’s real-life wife, Chelsea Field). Seems that Dwayne is taking the big step of introducing Rita to his mother. While the gesture is geared toward some stability, Pride is shying away from a step to ultimate constancy (and boredom for a man like Dwayne) …a promotion to an office job in Washington, D.C. His reluctance to take that step is bound to cause friction between him and Rita since she is the one always hopping on a flight to NOLA from her home base in D.C.

(Personally, I’m with Dwayne. NCIS: NEW ORLEANS has a great office with gorgeous architecture, beignets and jambalaya, which wins hands-down over a sterile, glass-box building in my book.)

However, a series of unfortunate events is on the horizon. Pride is called back to work from vacation when Hannah (Necar Zadegan) makes the wrong call on an NCIS/FBI joint investigation. Her decision results in a Navy bomb filled with deadly gas falling into the wrong hands. Because of the situation, Dwayne is forced to suspend Hannah and NCIS: NEW ORLEANS is down one team leader. What will Khoury do to correct her error? A bombshell decision (pun intended), no doubt.

Guest cast appearing in “Judgement Call,” (their spelling, not mine) includes Adam David Thompson, Clifton Duncan, David DeSantos, Hal Ozsan, Joanna Cassidy, Richard Thomas, Venus Ariel, Abraham Hsu, Angela Griffitt, Britton Webb, Kassandra Bandfield, Santo Andrew Panzarella and Tony Janning. Tonight’s season 6 premiere was written by Christopher Silber and directed by James Hayman.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS airs tonight (September 24) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the U.S. and at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on Global in Canada.
