Journeying through career development and relationship struggles, the three best friends demonstrate what it’s like to be a 20-something-year-old and be your own boss.
Firefly Lane
The newest of the three, this series first aired on Netflix at the beginning of 2021 and follows the life of Tully and Kate, two best friends, who much like the leading characters in The Bold Type, work their way up to the top of the ladder as journalists. Whereas one finds their career, one finds love, and the story shows how women can have it all.
While each of these three female-centred television programmes don’t show what it’s like to possess magic and conquer the world like Wonder Woman, they do go a long way to show that women are superheroes in their own way. In dominating the industry and appearing on TV screens across the world, these characters show that woman are successful and can conquer their professional and personal dreams.
