Do you feel like you’ve exhausted all of TV during the restrictions of lockdown? Another thing, interestingly enough, that has increased throughout lockdown is the number of wedding proposals. This means a lot of people are now planning their big day at a time where going to visit venues, listen to bands and talk to planners is much more difficult.

1. Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings
Launched in March 2020, Disney+ brought with it a plethora of sci-fi, superhero, and animated movies. What a lot of people don’t know about it though, is that it has its very own wedding program which takes a closer look at couples planning their dream fairy tale weddings. Rated a 4.8 by wedding wire, this series is a great insight into what goes into putting together your special day.
2. Four Weddings
This is an honest and often brutal portrayal of what happens behind the scenes of a wedding. On this series, you’ll follow four brides from all over the world, each with their own unique story and their own ideas for their wedding. It is a great insight into what goes into planning a wedding, why it can be so stressful, and also show the huge payoff when it actually gets to the big day, as you see couples book their venues, organize guest lists and choose the best Event entertainment.
3. A Very British Country House
One of the many UK based Channel 4’s wedding programs, this four-part series shows us some of the ceremonies that take place at one of the UK’s most exclusive country house hotels, Cliveden House. The series follows the house’s wedding planner Lydia Kenny and gives viewers access to a variety of ceremonies, including a small Chinese wedding in episode 3 and in episode 4, an incredibly intimate photoshoot.
4. 112 Weddings
This series is incredibly accessible as it is available to watch on YouTube. It follows Doug Block, an acclaimed filmmaker who has filmed 112 weddings. He rifles through old footage and picks out some of his favorite clips. He also reaches out to couples to see how married life has been treating them since last speaking.
5. Extreme Cake Makeovers
Choosing (or even baking) a wedding cake is arguably one of the most stressful and equally rewarding parts of someone’s wedding day. This series will show you some of the best and most imaginative wedding cakes out there.
Bonus Watch (Just For Fun)
If you’d rather see some of the worst possible outcomes as oppose to extravagant ceremonies that have had a lot of time and detail put into them, you might be a fan of Don’t Tell The Bride. This series follows happy couples due to get married, but that only have three weeks to plan their wedding, a limited budget, oh, and also, the bride can’t be involved in any of the wedding preparations. This show has seen weddings underwater, in the air and even brides having to complete obstacle courses to get down the aisle.
