Are you a fan of Mercedes Jones, Emma Pillsbury and/or Mike Chang? Well, we’ve got some good news for you because tonight’s episode of GLEE will be music to your ears. And while we wouldn’t go as far to say — as many of our fellow TV bloggers already have — that it’s GLEE’s finest hour to date. It’s pretty darn close.
Serving as a catalyst for an episode that may-or-may-not forever alter the DNA of New Directions, “Asian F” primarily revolves around the casting of McKinley High’s production of West Side Story that sees Rachel and Mercedes partake in a diva-off culminating in one of the most beautifully haunting musical numbers the show has ever performed. What’s more, not only will you never look at Jayma Mays’ Emma Pillsbury and Harry Shum’s Mike Chang the same way again thanks in no small part to the somewhat unsettling introduction — or in the case of Mike Chang — surprisingly emotional face-to-face with their respective parents, you’ll have a new appreciation for the pipes of one Amber Riley. In short “Asian F” gets an unabashed “A” from this TV Addict.
New episodes of GLEE air Tuesdays 8PM on FOX (Global TV in Canada) and stars Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr. and Darren Criss.
