After cancelling the ROSEANNE revival due to Roseanne Barr’s offensive tweets, ABC has decided to continue the show without her. Tonight the network announced that it has picked up THE CONNORS (working title) straight to series for the fall.
The show will air this fall with a 10 episode order and John Goodman (Dan), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Lecy Goranson (Becky) and Michael Fishman (D.J.) will be reprising their roles. ABC teases that “after a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before,” which hints that Barr’s character will likely be killed off the show. The network also made a point to announce that “Roseanne Barr will have no financial or creative involvement in the new series.”
