HOMELAND: Hugh Dancy Joins Series for Season 8

March 26, 2019 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

Hugh Dancy will be joining the eighth and final season of HOMELAND in a multi-episode arc. His character, John Zabel, is described as “a savvy Washington consultant who joins the White House as a new foreign-policy advisor to the President and a formidable opponent to Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin).”

The final season is set to debut later this year. In season 8, Carrie Mathison is recovering from her time in a Russian gulag. While her body is healing, her memory remains factured, which is a problem for Saul, who is now National Security Advisor to the President. The new President’s top priority is to end the war in Afghanistan and “Saul has been dispatched to engage the Taliban in peace negotiations. But Kabul teems with warlords and mercenaries, zealots and spies – and Saul needs the relationships and expertise that only his protégé can provide. Against medical advice, Saul asks Carrie to walk with him into the lion’s den – one last time.”
