THE BRIDGE: Introducing FX’s Hot New Murder Mystery

July 10, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

From the initial moments of the new series THE BRIDGE, it becomes apparent that there is something more than a mere murder going on.  For one, the body has been carefully placed, half in Mexico and half in the U.S., on the bridge connecting the two countries at the border.  Better yet, at each step of the investigation, a new significant surprise awaits. It also leads to a very thorny political issue of why U.S. crimes are pursued more diligently than crimes right across the border in Mexico.  The killer is not intent on simply killing, he has a very dark message; one which he uses many disturbing methods to convey. DEXTER Season 8 Preview: It’s Time To Pay For the Sins of the Past

June 30, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

DEXTER_S8-poster

From the day Dexter (Michael C. Hall) picked up his first knife and made his first cut, his days were numbered. For one cannot embrace the life of being a serial killer and not wonder how long the run can last. The number one rule of Harry’s Code has always been: don’t get caught. But last season Dexter was caught in the act twice, first by his sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) and then by Maria LaGuerta (Lauren Velez). Starring into the crosshairs of fate, Dexter persuaded Deb to cover up his dirty little secret time and time again last season, which she did willingly out of love for her brother. But the ultimate sacrifice was in the season’s finale when Deb had to make a much more heart-wrenching choice: to kill her brother or to kill her boss. As that fatal shot rang out and Maria’s body shuddered, nothing will ever be the same again. The look on Dexter’s face said it all: he knew Deb would be irrevocably destroyed having been forced to take an innocent life. [Read more…]

Spoiler Alert: Showtime Releases Episodic Photos From DEXTER Season 8

June 4, 2013 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

Hot on the heels of last week’s post teasing “The Beginning of the End” for our dearly departed DEXTER comes some far more spoilerific episodic shots that raise some very interesting questions. Will Dr. Evelyn Vogel (Charlotte Rampling) spell Dexter’s doom? Did Batista put his retirement on hold in the wake of LaGuerta’s untimely demise? Why is Deb shacking up with actor Sean Patrick Flanery?! And while we don’t quite have any answers for these burning questions, we can in fact officially confirm that some very interesting photos await you on the other side of this jump. [Read more…]

SCANDAL! Y&R! REVENGE! GREY’S ANATOMY! The TV Addict Week in Rewind

May 10, 2013 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

Saddest News: After a weeks-long illness, Jeanne Cooper — one of the most beloved soap stars of all time — passed away. Soon after, CBS announced that on Tuesday, May 28, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS will air a special episode honoring the legend and her alter ego, Katherine Chancellor.

Least Accurate Title: GO ON won’t be, err… doing as its title suggests, with NBC axing the Matthew Perry vehicle after one low rated season.

Lamest Lie: Did anyone really believe the endless denials from folks at THE OFFICE that Michael Scott wouldn’t appear in the finale? Anyone? Bueller?

Best Shocker: Forget the identity of SCANDAL’s mole… the fact that David was working with him was the real stunner!

Least Shocking Shocker: The moment THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Brooke was diagnosed as being pre-menopausal, every viewer on the planet said, “Yeah right… she’s pregnant!”

Best Recovery: With an unexpected pregnancy for Charlotte, the perfectly-timed blackout and several delicious Victoria/Emily scenes, REVENGE finally began to feel like the show we all fell in love with again.

Most In Need Of A Break: Has any heroine been as traumatized as poor Norma, owner of the trauma-plagued BATES MOTEL? [Read more…]

TV Today: Why We Love Anti-Heroes

May 3, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

If you are a TV aficionado, then you have probably been hearing the term “anti-hero” a lot in the past decade.  In fact, Showtime has made a fortune off of its “anti-hero” platform showcasing its series DEXTER, WEEDS, HOMELAND, NURSE JACKIE, CALIFORNICATION, as well as its upcoming new series RAY DONOVAN.  These are perfect examples of shows that feature the joys and triumphs of “anti-heroes.”

But recently the “anti-hero” craze seems to have reached such a saturation point that no one can exactly define what an “anti-hero” is and how it differs from just being a villain or a hero.  [Read more…]

revenge forgiveness

This Sunday, October 28th at 9PM, ABC (and CityTV in Canada) cordially welcome you to brunch! Of course, in typical Hamptonite fashion, said freebie frittatas come with some serious strings attached in that you’ll be forced to dine with none other than Victoria Grayson and Kara Wallace Clarke during what we can only imagine — based on these just released spoiler pics — may in fact go down as one of the most awkward reunions in recent television history. gabriel mann revenge nolan ross

What’s the only downside to starring on a hit television show where anything can and usually does happen? Well, if you’re REVENGE’s Gabriel Mann — who last season helped turn Nolan Ross into one of the year’s most buzzed about new characters — it’s that keeping your job becomes somewhat of an understandable priority.
