lucifer

Fox has expanded LUCIFER’s second season to a full 22 episodes, picking up 9 additional episodes than was originally ordered for the series.

“LUCIFER continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to GOTHAM, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes,” said Madden. “We’d like to thank Tom, Lauren and the entire cast, who have imbued these characters with charm, humor and a great deal of humanity. Our thanks also go out to the production crew – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – who, week-in and week-out, deliver a stellar show. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season.”

LUCIFER airs on Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. In tonight’s episode, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) clashes with Chloe (Lauren German) during an investigation, leading her to team up with Dan (Kevin Alejandro) instead. Meanwhile, Amenadiel (DB Woodside) bonds with Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) takes Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) trick-or-treating.

secrets

Eric Warner is a man with a bright future ahead of him when SECRETS AND LIES returns for its second season. He’s intelligent, well-educated and hardworking and he also happens to be the heir apparent to his family’s private equity firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. He’s also married to Kate, a woman he loves deeply.

One night, Eric, his family and his co-workers are attending a party to honor his father passing over the reins of the firm to him. But tragedy strikes when Kate Warner, Eric’s wife, falls from the roof of the building and dies. Eric is devastated. And then in walks Detective Andrea Cornell. Naturally, the grieving husband is suspect #1 and Eric is immediately in her cross-hairs. Did he push his wife from the roof? All we know right now is that Eric soon discovers that both his wife and his various family members aren’t necessarily who they appear to be.

Trying to help Eric through his grief is his father, John Warner. The father of three children, he built his private equity firm on a model of honesty and morality, but Kate’s death puts his succession plans on hold, and he may find that his stunning business achievement is really a house of cards.

Then there’s Andrea Warner Young, Eric’s sister who is married to a prominent Charlotte surgeon and who works as a criminal attorney for the Public Defender’s office. She tries to warn Eric about Detective Cornell and her methods. Patrick Warner, meanwhile, is the youngest in the family and works as an analyst in the family business. He’s a functioning alcoholic who has grown up in Eric’s shadow his whole life.

Who ultimately killed Kate? And what will people do to keep their most intimate secrets from ruining their lives?

LUCIFER Teasers: Seven Things to Know About the Season 2 Premiere

September 19, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

lucifer

There’s a lot coming in season 2 of the delicious Fox series LUCIFER and one of the big events is the arrival of Lucifer’s mother. She is, in a word, awesome, and you’ll be learning a lot more about her in episode 2 of the new season.

But before we get to that we have the season premiere, which is full of a new murder, the continued disappearance of Maze, and Lucifer’s struggle over the possibility of his mother returning to his life. Here’s seven things you need to know about the season premiere:

The Search for Mom. We quickly learn that Luci and Amenadiel’s mother doesn’t have a body, so she’ll have been forced to take the form of someone who recently died. This is revealed as the two angelic brothers are on the hunt for their mother. Lucifer is convinced that Mom will be searching for him since he kept her prisoner for so long, but Amenadiel isn’t so sure. But you’ll soon be asking yourself “what is Mommy Dearest seeking”?

Rewriting Biblical History. Are you unclear as to how the LUCIFER universe is changing up biblical history? As Lucifer tells his therapist, here’s the new story: two celestial beings (God and Charlotte) had “sex”, thereby creating the universe. They had a litter of kids (the angels), built Heaven and enjoyed their family. Apparently Charlotte was quite lovely in the beginning, but things turned sour when God started creating humanity. Lucifer rebelled and was cast out and then Charlotte was as well.

A New Forensic Cop. Meet Ella Lopez….she’s a hugger. Lucifer thinks she’s odd, but he quickly warms up to her when he learns she’s religious but thinks the devil isn’t so bad. And when he starts talking about himself as the devil in the first person, she thinks he’s just a weird method actor.

Angel Blood. Lucifer is still trying to convince Chloe that he’s the actual devil and suggests that she test his blood. Amenadiel thinks this is a bad idea because he doesn’t want any proof of divinity going into the LAPD’s forensic database. When Lucifer continues to insist, Amenadiel takes matters into his own hands.

The Return of Detective Douche. Dan is back on the street after the hoopla with the Palmetto case, but he’s been demoted, so he’s spending most of his time assisting Chloe with her most recent investigation.

Trouble on Set. The case of the week involves the death of a low level actress who also worked as a stand-in on the popular kids’ show “Leave it to Leslie”. The show’s star, Amy, is a heavy drug user and a bad seed. Lucifer is distracted as they investigate the case, constantly worried that his mother is lurking about and may even be connected to the case.

Where is Maze? Amenadiel seems genuinely sad about his former demon lover’s disappearance. When we see Maze again we learn that she’s feeling as conflicted about humanity and remaining on earth as Lucifer was in season 1. Is the demon changing? All we know is that she’s determined to find a new balance in her life now that she’s stuck on earth, seemingly for good.

LUCIFER returns for its second season on Monday, September 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox (U.S.) and CTV (Canada).

In the series premiere, a Pacific island warrior (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) reconnects with his son (SUPERSTORE’s Johnny Pemberton) in California and decides to stay. Also among the voice cast, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM’s Cheryl Hines and SNL’s Tim Meadows.

THE CIRCUS (8PM, Showtime)
Return: Also known as, the only positive thing to come out of this trainwreck of an election returns to take a look at the final leg of this seemingling never-ending horse-race.

BRAINDEAD (9PM, CBS – 2 hours)
Season Finale: The biggest mystery surrounding tonight’s two-hour finale isn’t so much whether or not Laurel will be able to drive the bugs from peoples’ brains, but rather will this end up being a season, or series finale.

2017 MISS AMERICA COMPETITION (9PM, FOX)
Chris Harrison and Sage Steele host the legendary* pageant, which celebrates its 96th year, in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall. Judges include Mark Cuban, Gabby Douglas, Sara Foster, Laura Marano, Cole Swindell and Sharlene Wells Hawkes. (Editor’s Note: The ABC PR flack responsible for writing up the above description needs to seriously take a moment and look up the definition of “legendary.”)

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (9PM, AMC)
Alicia and Madison work to unite two competing factions. Meanwhile, Nick draws upon skills from his past to take on a new role at the colonia.

THE LAST SHIP (9PM, TNT)
Season Finale: According to TNT, “The battle for America reaches its climactic conclusion.” According to the TV Addict, said “conclusion” might be a bit of a misnomer considering the show was just renewed thru season 5!

MASTERS OF SEX (10PM, Showtime)
Season Premiere: What MASTERS OF SEX lacks in “AFFAIR” levels of buzz it makes up for in spades with storylines that actually go somewhere! Case in point, season 4 begins with Masters and Johnson searching for purpose after their fallout and looking to work to save them as their personal lives crash down around them.

THE STRAIN (10PM, FX)
The Occido Lumen is stolen and Setrakian and Fet search for it; Gus and Angel try to keep a secret houseguest from a police sweep; and Quinlan’s reasons for vengeance is unearthed.

NEIGHBORHOOD SESSIONS: DAVE MATTHEWS BAND (10PM, TNT)
Nostalgia Alert!: Dave Matthews Band perform a 25th anniversary concert from their hometown of Charlottesville, Va. Highschool me is super psyched.

MADAM SECRETARY 9:00-10:00 PM (Premieres Sunday, Oct. 2)

Fox Releases New Trailers and Teasers for LUCIFER Season 2 and GOTHAM Season 3

August 9, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

lucifer

Fox made several announcements for its returning shows yesterday during the network’s TCA presentation and unveiled previews for several new shows. But now the attention turns back to two dramas: LUCIFER and GOTHAM.

Thanks to the network, we now have spoilers for both shows, as well as a dual preview with scenes from the upcoming seasons.

For LUCIFER, the big news is that Luci and Amenadiel’s mother has escaped Hell and the brothers will be teaming up to find her and make sure she doesn’t cause any trouble on earth. We’re also going to be introduced to a new LAPD officer, Ella Lopez. It was also announced that Michael Imperioli will be making a guest appearance as another angelic brother.

At the end of Season One, Chloe watched Lucifer die, only to come back to life, causing more confusion over who he really is. Meanwhile, her estranged husband, Dan (Kevin Alejandro), who is also an LAPD detective, came clean about his involvement in a corrupt case – jeopardizing not only his job, but also their relationship.

In Season Two, Lucifer and his brother, Amenadiel (DB Woodside), who have been sparring over Lucifer’s resistance to returning to the underworld, will now be brought back together for one common goal – to find their mother, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), who escaped Hell. After all, Lucifer doesn’t take after his dad, so the parent he does resemble is sure to be quite terrifying. Lucifer’s work with the LAPD also is upended when the police force hires Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia), a smart, tough forensic scientist whose mutual belief in both faith and science proves a point of interest to Lucifer.

With mom on the loose, Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris), who has become not only a therapist, but also a confidante to Lucifer, will surely have a lot of advice to dole out. And, by the time she’s done with them, she may need a therapist of her own.

Meanwhile, GOTHAM will be introducing more Super-Villains and revealing more about the Court of The Owels.

The origin story continues on Season Three of GOTHAM, and the stakes are higher than ever, as Super-Villains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City.

Season Three will peel back the curtain on the infamous criminal organization known as the Court of The Owls. With the Indian Hill escapees on the loose, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) must take matters into his own hands as a bounty hunter in Gotham. He makes it his mission to find Hugo Strange (guest star BD Wong), the mastermind behind the horrifying Indian Hill experiments, and Fish Mooney (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith), one of Strange’s subjects. Meanwhile, GCPD Detective Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and Captain Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis) remain at the forefront of the fight against crime in the monster-ridden city. Also, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), with the help of his trusted butler and mentor, Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), and former Wayne Enterprises employee, Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk), discovers there are still more secrets to uncover regarding his parents’ murders.

As the city sinks deeper into chaos, GOTHAM will continue to follow the evolving stories of the city’s most malevolent villains: The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor); Edward Nygma/the future Riddler (Cory Michael Smith); Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman Camren Bicondova); Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Tabitha Galavan/Tigree (Jessica Lucas) and Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell). The series also will catch up with the future Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha), who, after an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, finds herself reborn as a young woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms; and will dive into the origin stories of Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel), a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness; and the Tweed Brothers.

GOTHAM and LUCIFER return for all new seasons on Monday, September 19 at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS Season 7 Premiere Recap: Did Hanna Survive?

What happened to Hanna? The season premiere of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS began four days after the events of the last season finale, with the girls burying a body. And then we flashed back to four days earlier to the night that Hanna disappeared. The girls noticed Mary Drake walking into the police station to report a break-in at the Lost Woods Resort (which she now owns) and Toby learned who she was before reporting back to the others.

Thanks to a message from A.D., the group figured out that Hanna was in the church bell tower and rushed to save her. But it turned out the body they found was wearing a Hanna mask and wasn’t really a body at all. Instead, A.D. told the girls that they had 24 hours to find Charlotte’s real killer or Hanna would die.

The next morning, the group assembled at the Hastings house to figure out Charlotte’s murder. They believed that Mary Drake was A.D. and were determined to solve this mystery. It soon became obvious that Alison seemed like the #1 suspect in Charlotte’s death. Aria thought back to the night Charlotte died and hypothesized that she and Ezra had actually seen Ali that night. Mona suggested that Alison snapped, while Spencer put forward the theory that Alison killed Charlotte in self-defence. With the clock still ticket, the group split up: Mona, Caleb, Spencer and Toby headed to spy on Mary Drake, Emily went to visit Alison, and Ezra and Aria went to the DiLaurentis house.

Hanna, meanwhile, was stuck in a wooden shack, begging to be let out….a fact that her friends were soon aware of when her photo was texted to them.

At the hospital, Emily told Ali’s husband about Mary Drake (someone the fans know is actually his partner, as we learned in the season 6 finale). He, in turn, told her that Alison was suffering from tremendous guilt, which made Emily suspicious that Ali was Charlotte’s killer.

Back at the Lost Woods Resort, Spencer and Toby searched Mary’s room and found her very full passport. At the DiLaurentis house, Ezra and Aria were forced to hide in the closet when Elliot came home and they spotted him taking something out of a locked chest. Later that night, Mona and Toby followed Mary to Spencer’s house. As they waited outside, Spencer invited Mary in for tea. Mary told Spencer that she and Jessica didn’t get along and that Jessica had poisoned everyone against her. “I was born first and she was born jealous,” Mary said of her sister.

At the hospital, Emily went in to confront Alison. She told her sleeping friend that she needed to know the truth about Charlotte and was shocked when Ali suddenly woke up, asking God to forgive her.

In the midst of all this murder talk, Aria told Ezra that she needed time to think about their possible renewed relationship. And when Aria met up with Emily again, Emily lied and said she hadn’t been able to talk to Ali after all. It soon became obvious that Emily believed Ali was guilty and was torn about what to do.

Meanwhile, Aria headed to a bar near Hollis to track down an associate of Mary’s who was chatting with her on the phone. She came up with nothing, but when she heard a familiar song she went to Ezra’s house to be with him.

Soon after, Emily snuck into the DiLaurentis house and visited Ali’s room. She was conflicted about what Alison may have done, remembering the good times they had. She also noticed a box that Alison had set aside for Goodwill and found the red jacket that Ali may have worn the night Charlotte died. “Oh, Ali, what did you do?” Emily asked.

Back in the shack, Hanna dreamt of Spencer, who was really her subconscious prodding her to find a way out. Hanna remembered this when she awoke and started looking for the exit. “If there’s a way in, there’s a way out,” she said.

Spencer updated the others about Mary’s history just before Emily arrived to tell them that she suspected Alison had killed Charlotte. She also whipped out the red coat.

With 36 minutes left, the group discussed whether they should hand over Ali to save Hanna. Caleb stole the jacket and dropped it off at the Lost Woods Resort in order to save Hanna. Exactly 24 hours after issuing his/her ultimatum, Uber A arrived back at the shack to find Hanna gone. It turned out that she had escaped and was currently running through the woods. She spotted a car, but it just kept driving…at least until it turned around and Hanna spotted Mary Drake behind the wheel. Of course, she didn’t know who she was.

Meanwhile, someone grabbed and bagged the red jacket, while Elliott visited Alison to drug her again. “I know you killed Charlotte,” he whispered to her. “Just like you, Alison, karma can be such a bitch”.

In conclusion, Hanna is alive, but she’s not yet reunited with her friends. To find out what happens next, tune in to an all new episode of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS on June 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Freeform.
