NBC Picks Up Comedies ABBY’S and I FEEL BAD

May 8, 2018 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

Following the renewal of freshman comedy series A.P. Bio, NBC has picked up two new comedy shows for the 2018-2019 season: ABBY’S and I FEEL BAD.

ABBY’S is set in an unlicensed bar in San Francisco, run by Abby herself. The bar is described as the complete opposite of today’s party scene. There’s no cell phones, you have to earn a seat at the bar, and losing a bet means you have to drink a “non-beer” drink. The cast includes Natalie Morales, Nelson Franklin, Kimia Behpoornia, Jessica Chaffin, Leonard Ouzts and Neil Flynn.

Meanwhile, I FEEL BAD follows Emet, a woman who is described as the perfect mother, friend, daughter, wife and boss. Only she’s not as perfect as everyone thinks. Case in point: she has dreams about men who aren’t her husband, she pretends her children are strangers when they misbehave in public, and she calls on her staff to solve personal problems. The cast includes Sarayu Blue, Paul Adelstein, Aisling Bea, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton and James Buckley.

THE CROSSING: First Look at ABC’s New Mystery Series

January 8, 2018 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

SANDRINE HOLT, STEVE ZAHN, NATALIE MARTINEZ

THE CROSSING begins in the idyllic fishing town of Port Canaan — an American town with coffee shops and bookstores. Sheriff Jude Miller’s days aren’t filled with high-intensity police work….until something inexplicable happens. One day hundreds of bodies wash up on a beach. Many of them are dead, but 47 of them have survived.

Enter Department of Homeland Security Agent, Emma Ren, who joins Miller to assess the situation. But the two are confused — after all, there have been no plane crashes or boat accidents that would explain how the people washed up on the store. And everyone is strangely asking for asylum — because they are Americans fleeing a war that is supposed to happen 150 years in the future. The survivors explain that they are escaping a genetically superior population of humans who have ascended to power in the future and embarked on a campaign to kill off all members of the lower classes. They’ve traveled back to this time to find a better life, but conspiracy theories soon spring up. Are the refugees actors or invaders? To determine their true motives, they’re held in a secret location under strict supervision.

Soon Miller finds himself marginalized by Emma and the Feds. He’s shocked when he’s confronted by Rae — one of the survivors who seems to be a member of the advanced master race. But Rae is just a mother desperate to find the daughter she has been separated from and Miller is called upon to help.

Tonight’s NCIS: NEW ORLEANS could have been titled, “You always hurt the one you love.”

From the blonde bombshell with a killer kiss to the NCIS lab tech to the overbearing father who wants to mold his son’s destiny… love…or a facsimile thereof…wears many faces.

Voiceover rockstar, Michael Angelo Pniewski, guest stars as Beau Lasalle, Christopher’s father. We’ve known Chris (Lucas Black) for four years. Did anybody know his family was rich? Oil rich? I didn’t.

I knew his mom was a little overprotective and that his brother had challenges, but not once did I realize the Lasalles were floating in dough. Oil, I mean.

I also had no idea that Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich) was a student of S&M. I am not versed in the subject, but he sounds like he knows his stuff when a sailor is found bound in specialty knots.

The case takes Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team to a mysterious woman who is targeting men with high security clearance. Is her next kiss of death destined for Lasalle? “Sealed With A Kiss.”

SWAK.

Guest cast on tonight’s episode, “Acceptable Loss,” are Natalie Hall, Eric Morris, Alex Biglane and Magnola Nunez.

“Acceptable Loss” was written by Brooke Roberts and directed by Mary Lou Belli.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS airs tonight (October 31) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the U.S. and at 7pm on Global TV in Canada.
