Separated at Birth: OUTSOURCED and SCRUBS

September 2, 2010 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

To those who say originality in Hollywood is dead, we’ve got two words for you, “Darn Right!” At least as evidence by the latest edition of our popular recurring “Separated at Birth” series, in which we can’t help but notice a striking resemblance between logos for two of NBC’s comedies both past and present. Suffice to say, if imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery, the designers behind the SCRUBS logo should really feel quite good about themselves right about now! As for the designers behind the OUTSOURCED logo — well, we’d say that we hope this total lack of creativity isn’t indicative of what’s in store for viewers of NBC’s latest addition to their Thursday “Comedy Night Done Right” lineup — but unfortunately we’ve already seen the pilot.

Separated at Birth: PRETTY LITTLE LIARS’ Diego Diego Gonzalez and Alex O’Loughlin

July 15, 2010 By theTVaddict 7 Comments

After almost two years of sharing with our readers our inexplicable need to point out celebrities who, well look like other celebrities it finally happened: A reader submission! “When I was watching PRETTY LITTLE LIARS last week one of the girl’s new boyfriends looked really familiar and I couldn’t figure out why,” emailed frequent stopper-byer known as ‘Ace’ in the comments. “And finally it hit me, Diego González looks exactly like a young Alex O’Loughlin. Heck, his character’s name is even Alex!” Agree, disagree, offended that we’d even date to indirectly call Alex O’Loughlin old!? Have your say in the comments below.

Separated at Birth: BIG LOVE’s Alby Grant and LOST’s Benjamin Linus

February 1, 2010 By theTVaddict 3 Comments

Three quick observations with regards to last night’s phenomenal instalment of BIG LOVE. 1) In addition to her ‘For Your Consideration’ Emmy clip, last night’s heartbreaking and tearful confession by Margene as to what really went down between herself and Ben just cemented Ginnifer Goodwin’s status as television’s most underrated actress. 2) Almost as shocking as the three whole seconds it took Bill to expell his own son from his house was his treatment of loyal second-in-command Don. Seriously, somebody needs to smack this man upside the head for his continual self righteous and destructive behaviour. And finally, 3) Just how did it take us so long to reach our latest separated at birth comparison: BIG LOVE’s Alby Grant and LOST’s Benjamin Linus. Discuss.

Dear Seth MacFarlane,

Should you ever find the time to develop a live-action FAMILY GUY adventure — you know, during your spare five minutes between voicing and writing three hit FOX shows (FAMILY GUY, CLEVELAND SHOW and AMERICAN DAD) and your extra-curricular activities that include developing sponsored hilarity for both Google and Microsoft and the occasional FLASHFORWARD guest appearance — we’ve already got you your Neil Goldman. Meet his real-life doppelganger Josh Sussman, GLEE’s resident Rachel Berry stalker Jacob Ben Israel. You’re welcome. Seriously, no executive producer credit necessary.

Sincerely,
The TV Addict

Separated at Birth: CAPRICA & THE PLAN DVD Box Art!

August 11, 2009 By theTVaddict 4 Comments

Dear Universal Studios Home Entertainment,

While we at theTVaddict.com continue to be grateful to you for allowing the likes of Ronald D. Moore and Jane Espenson to tell stories in the form of direct-to-DVD movies such as CAPRICA and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: THE PLAN — would it be too much to ask for you to hire a graphic designer who doesn’t phone it in? I mean seriously, we get that in these troubling economic times you’re probably looking to cut down on costs and more likely that not aren’t spending your work days swimming ‘Scrooge McDuck’ style in a vault full of money. But come’on — the box art for CAPRICA and THE PLAN — we can’t see the difference, can you?

Sincerely,
The TV Addict
