THE 100 Sneak Peek: Survival Requires Sacrifice

March 22, 2017 By Araceli Leave a Comment

As we head into the second half of season 4 of THE 100, the situation on the ground is only getting worse. Last week’s plan to go into space and make Nightblood so that everyone can survive the coming radiation abruptly ended when Clarke, Bellamy and King Roan lost a barrel of hydrazine on their way to Becca’s Island. Without the necessary amount of fuel to power the rocket, they’re all now permanently stuck on Earth.

So it’s time to change directions yet again, and Abby’s next plan could turn deadly. In this week’s episode, titled “Gimme Shelter,” the good doctor wants to continue running tests for a possible cure to the radiation, but she’s going to need a human test subject. Her plan requires injecting someone with Luna’s bone marrow, then exposing that person to massive amounts of radiation. If it doesn’t work though, and they won’t know until they try, that person will suffer a painful death. Clarke and Abby must make a choice on whether to go forward.

Back at Arkadia, the black rain they’ve planned for has finally arrived, and it will push everyone to their limits. Trapped together in what’s left of the Ark, families and loved ones will be separated from those left outside, including Octavia. Bellamy heads out into the storm in search of his sister. Emotions are running high, and everyone will have to face some uncomfortable truths by the end of the night.

Watch some sneak peeks from the new episode below. THE 100 airs tonight (March 22) at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

ONCE UPON A TIME 6.12 Review: The One With Revenge, Realizations and Stabs in the Back

March 13, 2017 By Luciana Mangas Leave a Comment

145347_3136-900x600

Last night’s ONCE UPON A TIME came as a complete surprise for me. I have never been a huge fan of Charming flashback episodes, so when I saw the promo for it last week, I have to say I wasn’t too excited about it and thought it would be only be an okay episode. However, “Murder Most Foul” turned out to be not only entertaining in its endless twists and turns,  but a testament to how fantastically well these characters are being written and developed.

The episode starts with our heroes celebrating Emma’s and Regina’s safe return to Storybrooke. David steps outside for a moment and that’s when he starts seeing his father’s ghost. And here’s the kicker, he had always thought that his father was a drunk, who didn’t care about his family at all and that had died in a ditch somewhere because of his alcoholism.

But here’s the thing, we actually find out why David was separated from his twin brother – and that was because his parents made a deal with Rumplestiltskin in order to save at least one of their children – and that David’s father tried to get little James back when the boy ran away to Pleasure Island, in an attempt to get away from the king. With Pinocchio’s help, he found little James, but the King found them before they could leave the island, and ordered the boy’s father’s death.

Back in Storybrooke, David is determined to find out what happened to his father and why he keeps seeing his ghost, so he enlists Killian’s help to sneak into Emma’s place to get a book of spells and ingredients to make a potion, so that they can track his father’s last steps. Killian is so not on board with this plan, because here he is, trying to prove that he’s a changed man and that he is worthy of Emma’s love, but her father wants him to revert back to his pirate ways. He helps David against his better judgement, and what follows their mission is just hilarious, as a prince and a pirate try to do magic without having any magical powers. The moment when they’re debating how to stir the potion counter clockwise was easily one of the funniest scenes of the season.

But they do find out that David’s father was on Pleasure Island and, thus, seek Pinocchio’s help. Our good friend Pinocchio sheds some light on the last few hours prior to his death and how he was stone cold sober, as he tried to find James to bring him back home. That nearly undoes David, because he had spent his entire life thinking his father was a drunk, careless bastard, who had walked out on him and his mother. So when he finds out that he had actually been trying to bring his family back together, and that the King had ordered his death, he is hell bent on having his revenge.

Killian tries to stop him, but David handcuffs him to a bike post and goes straight to the King, determined to kill him and avenge his father. He challenges the King to a duel, but Killian – bless his heart – gets there just in time to stop his friend from doing something he would most definitely regret later. It takes a while, but David finally understands why Killian was trying to stop him and finally sees him for the good man that he is, and not just a pirate. And that’s all that he wanted all along, because our baby Killian was terrified about asking David for Emma’s hand in marriage.

That scene was just so sweet and funny and heartwarming, that I had tears in my eyes and a smile so big, that my cheeks hurt. So he finally has Emma’s father’s blessing and a ring –  all he needs to do now is actually propose. My CaptainSwan heart was nearly singing with joy at that point, but of course, they had to go and stab us in the back with such an unexpected twist, that made my head spin.

It turns out that Hook saved David’s father, only to murder him right afterwards, just so he wouldn’t tell anyone that he had killed the King’s guards. And that’s definitely going to come back and bite him in the ass.

Other highlights:

  • Killian going for a session with Archie, so he could talk to him about how to convince David that he was a good man, worthy of marrying his daughter. The look on Archie’s face when Killian showed him the ring was all of us watching that scene. Archie is definitely a CaptainSwan shipper;
  • Regina finally realizing that this is not her Robin and that he will not be able to replace him;
  • Emma and Henry spending some quality time together. After so much stress and drama, they deserve a little bit of fun.
  • Regina and Snow being besties. Not only that, but this episode highlighted just how far all these characters have come and how much they have grown and developed. While I’m not always super happy with their creative decisions, these writers have really done all of their characters justice and they treat them with the utmost respect. Unlike other shows.
  • CaptainCharming is the best BrOTP in television. I just absolutely adore their friendship and how far they have come since they first met.

ONCE UPON A TIME returns next Sunday, March 19, at 8/7C on ABC.

SUPERNATURAL Recap: Princes, Lances and Liars

February 16, 2017 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

spn

This week’s SUPERNATURAL, a nod to the Tarantino style of films, begins with Mr. Ketch, asking someone to tell him a story. Then it’s 5:20 p.m. and Dean is flirting with a waitress while sitting at a restaurant with Sam, Mary, Cas and a hunter named Wally. The waitress, however, is into Cas and soon Mary directs the conversation into something more pressing — Wally called the others to help him with a demon problem. While Mary assures Wally that everything will be fine we launch right into the next scene, where Cas is bleeding out and being carried by Mary, Wally is soon dead and the brothers are fighting some demons.

The episode, which jumps around (so bear with me), flashes back to earlier, when the brothers first meet up with Wally, Mary and Cas. Then we’re back at the restaurant where they are finally going over the plan. Later, Cas is keeping watch outside the house, while the others are setting traps inside. Cas pops inside for a moment and Mary gets a call from Wally that the demon is returning early. Everyone inside the house is anxiously waiting for the whistling demon to enter and Dean immediately puts a bullet into him. But it has little effect. Sam goes after him next, but the demon pulls Ruby’s blade out of him with little effort. Cas is his next victim and then the demon goes after Mary with weird glowing eyes. The group is soon separated as more demons approach and the brothers join Wally in fighting them, while Cas is crawling away from the original demon.

Then we’re back at Wally’s death, while Cas gets stabbed in the side with a spear. Mary temporarily saves him and brings him to a nearby barn, but he’s in bad shape. And she tells the boys as much when she calls them with her location.

It’s 9:05 p.m. now and the brothers reunite with their mother and tell her of Wally’s death. Mary wants to know if her boys saw the demon’s yellow eyes and Sam wonders what she got them into.

At 10:07 a.m. we see Mary sitting in a car with Wally while spying on a demon and we learn that she recruited Wally as a cover — she wanted to tell her boys they were called to help Wally, not her. And she’s praising the British Men of Letters, telling Wally about all the monsters they’ve killed together since they recruited her.

It’s 8:23 p.m. and the group is first pulling up to the house, prepping for the battle that will come later. And we learn that Mary covertly went into the basement soon after. Behind a painting she finds a safe and inside she finds a magical glowing box. She takes something out of it and then closes up the safe and heads back upstairs.

Then we’re at 9:03 p.m. and Mary is texting her BMOL contact, who is telling her to split because they had bad intel. Cas is groaning in pain, while weird black veins are spreading all over him. He thinks he’s dying, but Dean says he just needs some time to heal.

Enter Crowley: “You idiots, you’re all going to die”.

Sam correctly guesses that the demons were friends of Crowley. “Do you know what you’ve done? Does the name Ramiel mean anything to you?” It doesn’t to the humans in the room, but Castiel knows Ramiel as the “Prince of Hell”. Cas insists the princes are all dead and Crowley explains that was just a story. Apparently the Princes of Hell are the first demons turned after Lilith. In fact, they have Azazel’s yellow eyes.

We’re back to six years ago now and we see the demon we now know as Ramiel meeting Crowley for the first time. He’s introducing himself as King of the Crossroads who has been sent by Hell and he comes bearing gifts: the lance of Michael, the archangel. This is the same lance/spear that later stabs Cas. The second gift is the same thing we later saw in the glowing box (although we still don’t know what it is). And his third gift? The Throne of Hell. Back then Lilith and Azazel were dead and Lucifer was back in his cage, so Crowley offers up the crown. But Ramiel suggests that Crowley take it instead. “You seem ambitious enough, conniving enough, slimy enough. So take it. Go for the glory, kid,” Ramiel says to Crowley. Ramiel’s only request is that Crowley will ensure that no one ever bothers a Prince of Hell again.

In the present, Crowley explains that the lance is what got Cas and he’s sure to rot away. The brothers suggest they trap Ramiel to find a cure for this, but Crowley doesn’t think they have enough time. He splits soon after.

It’s 9:07 p.m. and the Winchesters are prepping for Ramiel’s arrival (he helpfully whistles so they can hear him). Crowley wants to ensure Ramiel doesn’t go into the barn, but Ramiel throws him through the barn door instead.

It’s earlier again, back when Crowley first left the barn. Cas is telling the brothers that they’ve helped changed him and that they’re his family. “I love you. I love all of you,” he says. “Just please, please don’t make my last moments be spent watching you die. Just run. Save yourselves. And I will hold Ramiel off as long as I can.” But the Winchesters refuse to leave, so now we have Ramiel trapped in a ring of holy fire. Sam and Dean are demanding a cure, but Ramiel says one doesn’t exist. He also demands what they stole from him, but Dean says they doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Then Ramiel has Michael’s lance and he starts fighting the Winchesters. Sam manages to stab and kill him as black goo starts coming out of Cas’ mouth. Crowley picks up the lance and then….Cas is healed. “Magic’s in the craftsmanship,” Crowleys says, remembering what Ramiel said when he first received the lance.

Cas is now healed and they all dismiss what Ramiel said about someone stealing from him. The group heads home.

But there’s one last thing: we’re back with Mr. Ketch, who is actually listening to Mary recount what happened. She’s upset about them sending her after a Prince of Hell and she says she’ll burn everything down if they try to fool her like that again.

“Is that a threat?” he asks. “It’s a promise,” she replies.

He apologizes for them making a mistake and her anger dissipates. “Can I see it?” he asks of what she took. She pulls it out of her pocket and hands over what she took from the safe.

What is it?

The Colt!

And Crowley is now desperately trying to find the gun. Someone inside a cell is taunting him, telling him the brothers don’t care about him. “They kill your kind, it’s in their blood. You know it’s only a matter of time until they come for you.”

“Shut your mouth, you dog,” Crowley says.

“That’s not my name”,” says the red eyed creature (a.k.a. Lucifer).

RIVERDALE: The Cast Introduces the Characters and their Complicated Relationships

January 25, 2017 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

riverdale cast

The story of RIVERDALE begins the morning of July 4 as twins Cheryl and Jason Blossom drive out to Sweetwater River for an early morning boat ride. “Are you scared, Jason?” Cheryl asks (in a move likely to hint at more secrets to be revealed at a later date). Jason shakes his head and the pair head out. The the time we see the Blossoms, Cheryl is found soaking wet on the riverbank and Jason’s body is not found when they drag the river. Jason’s death is ruled an accident, but it’s later revealed there was nothing accidental about it.

Before we get to that, however, it’s clear that a lot of people in town don’t view Jason’s death as a tragedy. Some people, in fact, are very happy that he’s gone. We get to know a lot of the characters of RIVERDALE in the pilot as this murder mystery continues to serve as a through-line for the show. Some of the characters are less connected to Jason than others, but most of them are drawn in to the story, all while hiding their own secrets.

RIVERDALE won’t be your typical team drama. Star Camila Mendes said that “It feels like a comic book, but it’s still real life, and I think we’ve done a great of balancing that, like balancing the darkness with the lightness. And also the idea that it really isn’t just teen drama, it’s not trivial drama that we’re dealing with. We’re dealing with really high stakes stuff, with our relationships with our parents, and balancing that with our relationships with each other. They’re going pretty deep.”

RIVERDALE premieres on on Thursday, January 26 at 9/8c on The CW.

ONCE UPON A TIME Recap: The Evil Within

October 17, 2016 By Luciana Mangas Leave a Comment

ouat

Last night’s ONCE UPON AT TIME took us back to its roots. In one of the most solid episodes we have had the pleasure of watching in at least a season and a a half, “Strange Case” had an old school kind of vibe and it felt so much like a season 1 episode. It was well balanced, had plenty of action and drama and just the right amount of screen time for its ever expanding group of characters. But mostly, it was just fun.

Back to school. Finally we got to see an interesting storyline involving Snow White. She has basically been in the back burner for a couple of seasons now, mostly going along for the ride, but we saw Snow taking control of her own life again and making an effort to have things go back to normal – or as normal as they can be when one is a fairytale character and lives in Storybrooke. But we got a really awesome glimpse of the Charmings family life in the beginning of the episode, with Charming being an endearingly obnoxious jealous dad and the family just having breakfast together, which was just great to watch.

That first scene was just so incredible and light and it made me smile so big, because this is what they have always wanted. The entire family together as Emma, Snow, Charming, Baby Neal and Henry gathered in the kitchen as they got ready for the day. Not even Regina’s arrival with Jekyll broke the spell of that entire feel good first moment of the episode. That one scene has been six years in the making and it was incredibly overdue and such a joy to watch.

But when Snow gets to school, things aren’t as they used to be. For starters, little Henry is now a teenager and even has a girlfriend, so that was her first reality check. Time has passed and things have changed. When the students don’t respond to her lesson as they used to, she is crushed. It takes Jasmine – and hey, we all knew that was Jasmine, right? I can’t even remember the name she used right now – telling her that she needed to let go of the past and adapt to the new normal, for Snow to get in the groove of how things are now. Embracing her true self is liberating and she delivers a kickass lesson to her students as badass Snow White. Brilliant subplot, brilliant delivery and brilliant dialogue. I loved every single thing about this plot and I can only hope they keep it up.

Jekyll, Hyde and the Evil Queen. First of all, the Evil Queen is delightful. Can we please keep her forever? Lana Parrilla is doing such an amazing job at separating both characters and she is just plain funny as a full on evil villain. There is a lightness to her voice and every single line that completely contradicts the despicable things she is capable of doing and it’s just amazing. Standing ovation to Parrilla for her outstanding performance.

Now, let’s talk about the abrupt end of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde storyline. Although, now that it’s over and it’s clear that they couldn’t really go any further than that, I admit I’d had the impression that they would play a larger role at least until the midseason finale. However, their story served its purpose to highlight that Regina is pretty much screwed. Despite having separated the evil and good parts of herself, this particular storyline showed us that there is no way to separate both parts completely. Jekyll was still capable of evil, just like Regina will have to live with the possibility of the evil within her rearing its ugly head again.

What became clear, however, is that there is no way to defeat the Evil Queen – at least not without losing Regina as well. The serum that Jekyll created was lost forever and it took Hook killing him for Mr. Hyde to die as well. When Jekyll turned on Belle, she asked for Killian’s help using a mermaid shell he had given her earlier that day. As it turns out, the good scientist was also a villain and tried to kill Belle in order to exact his revenge against Rumplestiltskin. When Hook pushed him into a spear that ran him through, his doppelganger, Mr. Hyde, also perished. That only showed them that in order for the Evil Queen to die, Regina will have to perish as well.

That led to an incredibly touching moment between Emma and Regina, where they mirrored the request Emma made at the beggining of season 5 – Regina asked Emma to sacrifice her, if push comes to shove. Emma promised her that she will do everything in her power to prevent that from happening because that’s what family does. This was just so beautiful and touching and it showed us how far these two amazing women have come.

Rumbelle. Look, it hurts me too. While I was never a Rumbelle fan, the child in me mourns for one of my favorite princesses. This relationship has come to a point that it’s completely toxic and abusive and I can’t see any way for them to even think about getting back to the way they were. Even though Rumple might be trying to change, he just can’t. He goes about it all wrong and, in an effort to protect Belle, he traps her in the Jolly Roger with magic, so she can’t leave. But that wasn’t the main problem here.

That final scene between them – after Hook has saved her from Jekyll – where Rumple is basically threatening her that she will go back to him whether she likes it or not, that was the final nail in this ship’s proverbial coffin. Because you know what – that is not okay. If you love someone, you don’t use threats or force or anything that may harm them to make them get back to you. What Rumple is doing has all the telltale signs of an abusive relationship. And when Belle tells him she will never go back to him because she has always seen who he really is and apparently he can’t change, he tells her that she will get back to him no matter what.

I’m sorry, but I can’t get behind a ship that promotes this kind of behavior. At this point, I don’t think Rumplestilskin can be ever be redeemed because – even though he tries to put his love for Belle first – he will never give up his power. And no matter what happens, he will always put that power first and that is not what a healthy relationship is supposed to be about. I really, really hope that Belle stays as far away from him as possible and that Emma and Regina can help her protect her baby boy when he’s born.

Jasmine. So we all knew it was her, right? While we only caught a glimpse of what their storyline is going to be about, I admit I am so curious to watch this unfold. So Jasmine apparently is looking for Alladin in Storybrooke, so that opens so many exciting possibilities – especially for Emma to understand what being a Savior is all about. Also, it has been a solid twenty years since I last watched Alladin, but is there a possibility that the Oracle is actually Jafar? Have you taken a look at that staff she keeps walking around with? I saw that theory last night on Twitter and I actually think this could be a possibility.

Overall, though, this was such a great episode. It had been a while since I finished an episode of this show and had that omg, I want more feeling.

A new episode of ONCE UPON A TIME airs next Sunday, October 23, at 8/7c on ABC (U.S.) and CTV (Canada).

ARROW Season 5 Premiere: A New Job, a New Solo Mission and Slipping Back Into Old Habits

October 5, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

arrow

A lot of things have changed as we enter the fifth season of ARROW. Oliver is back to being a lone vigilante (albeit with tech support from Felicity) after Laurel’s death and Thea and Diggle’s “retirement”. He’s also got a new high-profiled job as Mayor (Mayor Handsome, the papers call him). And he’s struggling to figure out how to juggle both aspects of his life while the city is overrun with crime.

Here’s what you need to know about the season premiere of ARROW:

Dones’t Play Well With Others. It’s the kick-off party for the city’s Anti-Crime Initiative and Oliver is busy out on Arrow duty, while Thea is covering for him at the event. While Felicity is trying to remotely disarm a bomb that Oliver finds, another vigilante in a hockey masks steps in to help. Oliver doesn’t want his help and we learn this guy has crossed paths with the Arrow before. To help dissuade him from participating further, Oliver puts an arrow through his leg. But maybe it’s time to start considering additional team members because flying solo as the Arrow means he barely has any time to actually do his new mayoral job. Meanwhile, Felicity is encouraging Oliver to put together a team and has suggestions for new members, but Oliver believes Thea and Diggle will come back. Not only that, he thinks the new vigilantes are all unqualified and would be in too much danger…especially after what happened with Laurel.

Public Relations. Thea’s big job at City Hall seems to be saving Oliver from himself. When he accuses the police of corruption at the ACI gala, she pulls him away from the reporters. Of course, he’s actually right and we see that some members of the SCPD are acting outside of the law, but she’s still concerned about his image.

A New Bad Guy. The corrupt cops aren’t the worst thing happening to Star City in the season premiere. A new villain — Tobias Church — walks into town and decides to make a name for himself by kidnapping Oliver and a few others during a statue dedication ceremony honoring Laurel/Black Canary. For a minute there you’ll be amused by Oliver fighting off his captors with his usual skills before realizing he’s just supposed to be Mayor Handsome.

Fallen from Grace. Oliver learns that Lance is back in town — he’s separated from Donna and he’s fallen off the wagon. Oliver suggests that Quentin find purpose again and help him out, but Quentin isn’t interested. Laurel’s death is still clearly an open wound for the man.

Less Restraint. Oliver is back to killing again and Thea is upset about it when she helps out a kidnapped Oliver. He says it was a mistake to take the high road before — either he has to do what’s necessary or he shouldn’t be out there at all. But Thea doesn’t want this and never wants to kill again, so she refuses to rejoin his team. We’ll also learn exactly what Laurel told Oliver before she died.

Don’t miss the season premiere of ARROW tonight (October 5) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

THE CW Teasers: THE FLASH, ARROW, FREQUENCY and More

September 15, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

Several season or series premieres are coming to The CW the week of October 3. On THE FLASH Barry will be living an alternate life, while on ARROW there will be a slew of new vigilantes. In addition, both of The CW’s new fall shows — NO TOMORROW and FREQUENCY — will be premiering.

Tuesday, October 4

THE FLASH 3.01 “Flashpoint”: Barry (Grant Gustin) is living his dream life – his parents are alive, he’s asked Iris West (Candice Patton) on a date and he can finally be a normal guy as Central City has another speedster, Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), running around saving the city. When Barry starts forgetting parts of his old life, the Reverse Flash (guest star Matt Letscher) taunts his nemesis and tells him that there will be serious repercussions for Barry and the ones he loves if he continues to live in this alternate universe. In addition to losing his memories, his powers will also start to fade. When disaster strikes, Barry must decide if he wants to continue to live in this world as Barry Allen or return to his universe as The Flash. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Brooke Roberts.

NO TOMORROW 1.01 “Pilot”: Evie (Tori Anderson) is a risk-averse quality-control assessor, who appreciates order. Then Evie meets charming, free-spirited Xavier (Joshua Sasse), who encourages Evie to carpe that diem, because he believes humankind has a mere eight months and twelve days until a runaway asteroid smacks us all into stardust. That’s why he made an Apocalyst – a tally of every last thing he wants to do before the world goes kaput. So with the help of her friends, Evie must decide whether Xavier is certifiable and whether that even matters, if being with him means living her life more fully. Amy Pietz, Jesse Rath, Jonathan Langdon and Sarayu Blue also star. Corinne Brinkerhoff, Scott McCabe and Tori Stanton wrote the episode, directed by Brad Silberling.

Wednesday, October 5

ARROW 5.01 “Legacy”: After Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) death and the departures of both Diggle (David Ramsey) and Thea (Willa Holland) from Team Arrow, Oliver (Stephen Amell) takes to the streets solo to protect Star City’s citizens as the Green Arrow. With Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) guiding him from the bunker, Oliver is forced to deal with a city that has become overrun with both criminals and a slew of new (and painfully inexperienced) vigilantes. Watching Oliver try to balance his jobs as both the mayor and also the protector of Star City, Felicity suggests he form a new team, but Oliver resists. However, when a deadly new criminal, Tobias Church (guest star Chad L. Coleman), enters the picture, Oliver realizes the best thing for the city might be a new team of superheroes. Meanwhile, the flashbacks take us to Russia where Oliver faces off against the Bratva. James Bamford directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle.

FREQUENCY 1.01 “Pilot”: Detective Raimy Sullivan (Peyton List) has always wanted to prove that she is nothing like her father. In 1996, when Raimy was 8 years old, NYPD Officer Frank Sullivan (Riley Smith) left Raimy and her mother, Julie (Devin Kelley), behind when he went deep undercover, got corrupted, and got himself killed. Or so the story has always gone. Few people knew about the secret undercover sting operation Frank was really charged with, led by Stan Moreno (Anthony Ruivivar), who has now risen to Deputy Chief of Police. Frank’s former partner, Lieutenant Satch Reyna (Mekhi Phifer), is now Raimy’s mentor and friend, and he has urged her to let go of the hurt and anger she still feels about Frank’s disappearance and death, but the old pain still lingers. Raimy can barely bring herself to discuss Frank, even with her devoted boyfriend, Daniel (Daniel Bonjour), or her childhood friend, Gordo (Lenny Jacobson). Now, twenty years later, Raimy is stunned when a voice suddenly crackles through her father’s old, long-broken ham radio – it’s Frank, somehow transmitting over the airwaves and through the decades from 1996. They’re both shocked and confused, but Raimy shakes Frank to the core when she warns him that the secret sting he is undertaking will lead to his death. Armed with that knowledge, Frank survives the attempt on his life. But changing history has dramatically affected Raimy’s life in the present – and there have been tragic consequences. Separated by 20 years, father and daughter have reunited on a frequency only they can hear, but can they rewrite the story of their lives without risking everyone they love? Brad Anderson directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver.

OUTLANDER: David Berry Joins the Cast as Lord John Grey

August 29, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

OUTLANDER won’t be returning for more than six months, but Starz is already announcing new casting news: David Berry has been recruited to play Lord John William Grey.

According to Starz, “Lord John William Grey is a steadfast and honorable British subject, torn between a finely-honed sense of familial duty and a strong moral compass of right and wrong.  He is boyishly handsome with an upper class rearing — the consummate gentleman.  However, a scandal from his past has relegated Lord John to an undesirable position as governor of a desolate prison in Northern Scotland.”

Starz also provided a few teasers about the upcoming third season of OUTLANDER (which will premiere in 2017): “The third season of OUTLANDER picks up right after Claire travels through the stones to return to her life in 1948.  Now pregnant, she struggles with the fallout of her sudden reappearance and its effect on her marriage to her first husband, Frank.  Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie suffers from the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the historic battle of Culloden, as well as the loss of Claire.  As the years pass, Jamie and Claire attempt to make a life apart from one another, each haunted by the memory of their lost love.  The budding possibility that Claire can return to Jamie in the past breathes new hope into Claire’s heart… as well as new doubt.  Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other.  As always, adversity, mystery, and adventure await them on the path to reunion.  And the question remains: when they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?”
