Jenny’s This Week on TV

April 1, 2007 By theTVaddict 1 Comment

Welcome to This Week on TV! Notice the new format to some of the column… On the list of “Also on tonight” shows, you’ll notice that if a show is new that night, it will say *New* in red on the left. (Or other things, such as *Sports* etc) If a show is listed without that on the left, you’ll know it is a rerun. Also, I have now included the network and time that each show is on, plus if it is 2 hours, 2 episodes, etc. So hopefully that will give you all the information you could possibly want! If you have any other suggestions, please comment below and let me know! Now, let’s see what’s happening this week, shall we?

SUNDAY

Sunday, watch the premieres of 4 shows! First is the 3rd season premiere of Mind of Mencia on Comedy Central at 10/9c. Then at 10:30/9:30c also on Comedy Central is the 4th season spring premiere of Reno 911. Did anyone go see the Reno 911!: Miami movie when it came out last month? Soooo not my type of thing, but funny for those of you who enjoy it! 😉

Exclusive Scoop: The GILMORE GIRLS Series Finale!

March 31, 2007 By theTVaddict 33 Comments

Having just returned from the set of SUPERNATURAL, this TV addict was in no mood to going through the massive pile of mail that accumulated while I was away. Luckily, one oddly thick package caught my attention…

Yes my friends, your eyes don’t deceive you. In this TV addict’s possession is the season (possibly series) finale script of the GILMORE GIRLS! Dying to discover what happens to our favourite gals from Stars Hollow? Highlight the inviso-text below to find out. Needless to say, spoiler-phobes beware.

With Rory preparing to graduate from Yale and move to New York for grad school, Lorelai finds herself at a crossroads. Not willing to be left alone in Stars Hollow, Lorelai must finally choose between marrying Luke or returning to Christopher. Of course like everything in Stars Hollow, nothing is as easy as it seems. Marrying Luke means moving to New Mexico to be with April. While committing to Christopher means shutting Luke out of her life forever.

The episode reaches a climax at Rory’s graduation, as the entire town shows up for the big event. As Rory receives her diploma from special guest star Christiane Amanpour, Lorelai looks over at Chris who’s beaming with pride. She realizes that Christopher is indeed her soul mate, and that family is more important than anything else. Lorelai decides to sell her portion of the Dragonfly Inn to Sookie and Michel and move to Paris with Christopher and Gigi. Luke, unable to bare losing Lorelai again, decides to sell the diner to Kirk and moves to New Mexico to be closer to April. Melissa McCarthy, Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil and Sean Gunn also star.  Stephen Clancy directed the episode written by Rebecca Rand Kirshner (#2T7768).

Save One Show

March 27, 2007 By theTVaddict 27 Comments

This week, E! Online’s Kristin released the candidates for her annual SAVE ONE SHOW campaign. Unlike previous years, this year’s poll seems exceptionally harsh with seventeen shows on the brink of cancellation. The list includes, 30 ROCK, THE CLASS, CLOSE TO HOME, CROSSING JRODAN, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, GILMORE GIRLS, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, JERICHO, MEDIUM, THE NINE, ONE TREE HILL, SCRUBS, SIX DEGREES, STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP, SUPERNATURAL, VERONICA MARS and WHAT ABOUT BRIAN. Pretty much an impossible choice for anyone, let alone a full fledged TV addict.

That said I’ve been putting far too much thought into how I’m going to narrow down my choice and I thought I’d take a moment to share my process with you.

Elimination Round One: Shows I don’t watch
The first step is the easiest, as there happens to be nine shows on the block that for one reason or another, I simply don’t watch. Say goodbye to: CLOSE TO HOME, CROSSING JORDAN, MEDIUM, THE NINE, ONE TREE HILL, SIX DEGREES, WHAT ABOUT BRIAN

Elimination Round Two: Enjoy, but not obsessed with
Step two is a bit harder as I’m going to have to eliminate two shows that I enjoy on a semi-regular basis, but aren’t given season passes on my PVR. Say goodbye to: JERICHO and SUPERNATURAL (Note to SUPERNATURAL FANS: I’m so impressed with your passion and love for your show, please don’t send some bad-ass ghosts after me!)

Jenny’s This Week on TV

March 25, 2007 By theTVaddict 5 Comments

Welcome to This Week on TV! First of all, congrats to two of my favorite shows, Men in Trees & Grey’s Anatomy, along with Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty, The Bachelor, Boston Legal, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Jimmy Kimmel Live & Lost. They have joined America’s Funniest Home Videos, Supernanny & Wife Swap in the RENEWED FOR NEXT SEASON column. There are a lot of big things on this week, so let’s get right to it!

SUNDAY

Sunday is all about season finales! At 8/7c on NBC, find out who are chosen to play Danny and Sandy on Broadway on the finale of Grease: You’re the One That I Want.

At 9/8c on VH1, check out the 1st season finale of The Surreal Life: Fame Games.

Then at 10/9c on SciFi, catch the explosive season finale of Battlestar Galactica. Good news (& possible bad?) for BSG fans… They upped the episode number for next season from 13 to 22. I had heard though, that if that happened, they would most likely make next season the last. I haven’t heard any more about that, so maybe it’s just rumors.

Finally, if you are lucky enough to have premium channels, catch the season finales of Rome on HBO at 9/8c and The L Word on Showtime at 10/9c.

Also on tonight:

  • Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels *Season Premiere*
  • American Dad *New Episode*

Jenny’s This Week on TV

What the FRAK is going on?? Is the CW nutso? I can’t even begin to describe the heartbreak I will feel if Veronica Mars is gone for good. Here’s what the CW has on the bubble: Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, 7th Heaven and One Tree Hill. If they lose even 2 of those 4, what the frak are they planning on putting in their places? More repeats like they have on Sundays? New shows? We know how well that worked this season for them. Hah. They need to smarten up. It sounds like Gilmore Girls may not be back from their own choice, and 7th Heaven really needs to go away. So give the other three another shot and actually PROMOTE THEM! Argh. I can’t even describe how frustrated I am right now! On a completely different note, my son is gone to Alabama with my mom to visit my grandparents this week for spring break, so let’s see what’s on to keep me occupied while he’s away!

SUNDAY

Sunday, if you have been enjoying The Winner on FOX, catch the 2 new episodes tonight at 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c. On the first episode, when Josh starts hanging out with a new friend at school, Glen decides to find his own new friend who, unbeknown to Glen, is a gay man with a crush on him. Then in the season finale, Glen comes face to face with his old homeroom teacher (played by Katey Sagal of Married … with Children & 8 Simple Rules!), who ends up giving him a lesson in love. Awwww! lol

If SciFi is more your bag, check out The Dresden Files at 9/8c. Harry must delve into the world of dark magic to solve the murders of a local gangster and his girlfriend.

Then stick around for Battlestar Galactica at 10/9c. As the trial of Gaius Baltar begins, testimony rivets the fleet’s attention.

Also on tonight:

  • I’m With Rolling Stone *1-Hour Season Finale*
  • Blood Ties *New Episode*
  • Cold Case *New Episode*
  • Deal or No Deal *New Episode*
  • Dice Undisputed *New Episode*

Jenny’s This Week on TV

March 11, 2007 By theTVaddict 2 Comments

Hi everybody! Ya know, one thing I noticed recently, when seeing a preview on NBC for Raines (which I’m REALLY looking forward to!), is that even the normal networks are beginning some of their shows at odd times during the season. It used to be, everything started in the fall and ended in May (or thereabouts). Then some regular type shows started airing in the summer, which is fantastic. Then seasons got split into Fall and Spring or Winter or whatever they want to call it. And now, it seems like you have shows starting in the middle of March. I don’t get it, really. Of course, there isn’t much of ANYTHING about the networks that I understand anymore. It’s all about the Benjamins, unfortunately. So I guess I do understand 1 thing. heh Well, let’s see what’s on tv this week, shall we?

Jenny’s This Week on TV

March 4, 2007 By theTVaddict 5 Comments

It’s hard to believe that the regular tv season is almost over! Over the course of the next couple of months, we will start to see the season finale of many shows as well as the series finale of others. It’s a time of year that I don’t really look forward to, because I know I’ll miss great shows, like my favorites Grey’s Anatomy til next Fall and Veronica Mars possibly gone forever after this season. It’s hard to even think about! But, carpe diem! Seize the day! Still lots on, so let’s see what’s new this week. 🙂

SUNDAY

Sunday, check out the new night and time for The War at Home at 7:30/6:30c on FOX. Dave and two co-workers quit their jobs and start their own business; Hillary decides to join the Army; Larry does not want to get his driver’s license. I know a lot of you aren’t fans, but my husband & I are! Since Michael Rapaport (from Boston Public & many movies) is being courted for a new pilot next season, I think I read recently, I wouldn’t count on this one coming back. 🙁

Also on FOX, check out the premiere and 2nd episodes of The Winner at 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c. Narrated by a 43-and-a-half-year-old, incredibly rich and successful man, “The Winner” looks back to when the man lost his innocence and finally stepped into the world — at the tender age of 32. It’s 1994, and Glen Abbott is still living with his parents. When Alison, the only girl he’s ever kissed, moves back to town, Glen decides to make something of himself in order to impress her. It’s not in vain, thankfully — for this unlikely underdog will eventually transform from nervous under-achiever to the richest man in Buffalo in just a few years. At the moment, though, the only person Glen can truly relate to happens to be Alison’s 13-year-old son, Josh; they’re both going through “puberty.” Parental guidance comes courtesy of Glenn’s enabling mother Irene and supportive but usually angry dad Ron. It looks pretty funny, but we’ll see!

Also on tonight:

  • Girls Next Door *Season Premiere*
  • Battlestar Galactica *New Episode*
  • Brothers & Sisters *New Episode*
  • Cold Case *New Episode*
  • Deal or No Deal *New Episode*
  • Desperate Housewives *New Episode*
  • Extreme Makeover: Home Edition *New Episode*
  • Family Guy *New Episode*
  • Grease: You’re the One That I Want *New Episode*
  • The Amazing Race *New Episode*
  • The Apprentice: Los Angeles *New Episode*
  • The Dresden Files *New Episode*
  • The L Word *New Episode*
  • The Simpsons *New Episode*
  • Without a Trace *New Episode*
  • America’s Next Top Model *Repeat*

Jenny’s This Week on TV

February 19, 2007 By theTVaddict 2 Comments

Wow, I apologize for missing Sunday! Was a VERY long weekend. Didn’t have a great Valentine’s Day celebration on Friday, cause the theater changed the movie to that stupid Ghost Rider film, but the hubby & I got dinner from Quizno’s, which we don’t normally have, then watched a bunch of tv together, so that was fun. 🙂 Spent most of the weekend car shopping and found a 2004 Chevy Malibu that we both LOVED. Looking into financing now, so… Whew. Not fun! LOL Glad there is lots of tv on this week to take my mind off it all!

MONDAY

Monday, catch the new episode of Prison Break on FOX at 8/7c. Michael and Sara realize that Pope (Stacy Keach) is the key to bringing down the company; C-Note fears for his daughter’s life; T-Bag takes the Hollander family to his childhood home. Home freakin creapy is T-Bag?? lol

Then stick around at 9/8c for 24. Chloe covers for a fellow agent; Milo faces the pressure of a new threatening situation; Jack struggles with another setback; the administraction remains bunkered down.

  • CSI: Miami *New Episode*
  • Deal or No Deal *New Episode*
  • Everybody Hates Chris *New Episode*
  • Girlfriends *New Episode*
