“Saving people, hunting things” has been the Winchester family motto since the very beginning of SUPERNATURAL. And while Mary hasn’t really had many opportunities to do this (save for a few appearances by her younger self as a hunter), she will have an opportunity to investigate a case alongside her boys early on in the season.

Episode 12.03, titled “The Foundry”, finds the Winchesters investigating a rather strange case. A crying baby leads to a death in a mysterious abandoned house (never a good type of house to be in), which leads to the Winchester family investigating the case. According to a preview for the episode, the case looks like a spooky one.

Meanwhile, Castiel is still on the hunt for Lucifer after unleashing the devil on an unsuspecting world last season. But in order to catch him, he’s going to need to team up with Crowley. The angel and demon are going on a good old fashioned road trip.

SUPERNATURAL Preview: A Family Hunting Trip

October 20, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

Dean seemed to have trouble adjusting to Mary’s return in this week’s SUPERNATURAL, not knowing how to deal with having his mother in his life. Sam, meanwhile, still refused to give up any information to Toni, who quickly turned to torturing him herself. When Cas got a lead on Toni’s location, Dean headed out to find his brother. He was hesitant to bring his mother along, but Mary insisted she could handle herself. After arriving at the seemingly abandoned farmhouse Dean went in alone, while Mary waited outside with Cas, who was warded against going into the building. Of course, Dean got himself captured, which meant Mama Winchester had to save both of her boys.

Rowena, meanwhile, wanted to leave her old life behind and had taken to dating rich men. But Crowley still wanted his mother’s help in settling a score with Lucifer. Speaking of Lucifer, we met the Devil’s newest vessel this week: Vince Vicente. He was a mildly popular rock star, but he was dealing with the grief of losing his wife. When Lucifer messed with his mind and appeared as his wife, he unknowingly agreed to be his vessel. Rowena and Crowley managed to trap Lucifer, but couldn’t send him back to the cage and the Devil trapped Rowena when Crowley ran for his life.

In the end, another British Men of Letters member — Mick — arrived to tell the brothers that he wanted to work with them, not against them. He gave them time to come around and then took Toni back to England to face consequences for going too far. Later, Toni told Mick that the Winchesters needed to go if they got in their way and Mick agreed, if it got that far. And we learned that Mr. Ketch — apparently a very dangerous man — was on his way from England.

In next week’s episode, the Winchester family goes on a hunt together, investigating a case involving a crying baby and an abandoned house. It looks like we’re dealing with some very creepy ghosts. Meanwhile, Crowley and Castiel team up to hunt down Lucifer/Vince.

SUPERNATURAL Preview: Rick Springfield is the Newest Lucifer

October 18, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

When the announcement that rocker Rick Springfield was joining SUPERNATURAL as the new Lucifer was made at Comic-Con, the news was greeted with applause. The producers explained that Springfield would be playing Vince Vincente, who starts off as a guy woo is “pretty sympathetic and he’s lost his wife. He’s tortured. Once he accepts Lucifer, he is evil incarnate. As an acting exercise it’s pretty intense. He’s written as pretty evil. It’s a good part,” producer Robert Singer teased.

Now a new preview below introduces us to Springfield’s character. As we saw in the season premiere, Lucifer is jumping from vessel to vessel until he settles on Vincete. Once that happens, he seems to enjoy the adoration and acclaim that comes with being a rock star. And while both Castiel and Crowley are hot on his heels in order to lock him back up (one for “saving the world” purposes, the other for more selfish reasons), Lucifer seems content to live as Vincete rather than trying to destroy the world any longer. At least for now.

The next new episode of SUPERNATURAL airs on October 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Season 12 Premiere Recap: Rejoining the Family Business

October 13, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

We opened the season 12 premiere of SUPERNATURAL exactly where we left off — with Dean seeing his newly resurrected mother in the cemetery. She takes him to the ground the moment he reaches out for her and then introduces himself. She’s disbelieving since the Dean she remembers is only four years old, but flashbacks to her death and Dean’s tale of how John and Mary met convince her quickly. She embraces him lovingly. Later Dean is telling Mary about John’s death and about how he raised them as hunters. With that done, he tells her they should head home.

Then we cut to Castiel, who is shooting through the air like a comet before punching a hole through the ground. When a passing driver tells him he’s three hours from Lebanon, Kansas he puts the man to sleep and steals his car.

Meanwhile, Toni is dealing with a wounded Sam (who has been shot in the leg), so she recruits a random vet to clean and stitch up his wound and then ties him to a chair so she and her friend can torture him a bit. He threatens to kill both women, but she just wants to know more about the Winchesters, American hunters and how they saved the sun. Toni also insists that she knows him because they’ve been watching him for years. Some of the British Men of Letters wanted to step in and assist with the apocalypse and other big crises, but the “big man” didn’t want them to interfere. Now she insists they’re “here to help” and if he answers her questions she’ll let him go. But Sam isn’t in a mood to share and he taunts her to come at him. Thus the torture begins. She later explains the difference between the British MOL and American hunters — how the BMOL are so much more organized and effective. “We are good at our job,” she claims, before telling him they should work together. He refuses, so Toni’s friend burns him.

Mary and Dean arrive back at the bunker, where she admits she knows about the MOL but thought they were just a myth. The pair immediately become concerned when they see nothing but blood at the bunker and Dean starts looking for Sam and Cas. Cas returns and Mary confronts him, but Dean stops her from shooting the angel, saying he’s a friend. Cas explains what happened and Dean uses traffic cameras to find their first lead.

Crowley, on the other hand, is dealing with the still-free Lucifer, who is burning through vessels at an alarming rate. Other demons are in touch with Lucifer, but Crowley is hot on their tail. He manages to kill the demons who laugh at him for his recent predicament and then keeps chasing his prize.

Later Cas roughs up Toni’s driver, who provides them with another dead-end lead. At Sam’s prison, Toni suggests to her friend that they try to break Sam’s mind instead of his body. Fortunately for Sam’s wound-be rescuers, Mary, Dean and Cas find the vet that helped Sam, who provides them with Toni’s number.

Sam quickly realizes something is up when he finds himself unshackled in his cell with his burned foot bandaged. Enter Dean, who calls up Toni. He wants her to hand Sam back. “When I find you, and I will find you, if he’s not in one piece I will take you apart,” he threatens her. Sam, meanwhile, is not entirely in one piece. He’s hallucinating the death of people he knew and loved, all of whom are blaming him for their death and pain. As Dean, Cas and Mary head back to the bunker to trace the call, Toni’s associate gets the jump on them. With the help of some enchanted brass knuckles she takes down Dean and Castiel, at least until Mary stabs her through the chest with an angel blade.

Back in his prison cell, a guilt-ridden Sam grabs a piece of glass and slits his own throat.

At least, that’s what we were led to believe. It turns out he tricked Toni to get her into the cell so he could choke her. But she got the jump on him and locked him up again.

Back at the car, Mary tells Dean she never wanted this life for her children. Dean tells her he understands, but this is their life and he thinks “they make the world a better place”. As they head out to find Sam, the younger Winchester brother sits in his prison.

SUPERNATURAL Preview: Searching for the Devil and a Missing Winchester

October 13, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

The British Men of Letters tortured Sam in the season premiere of SUPERNATURAL this week. Toni Bevell insisted they only wanted to help American hunters be better and more effective, but Sam defied all of her attempts at questioning him. At the same time, Dean returned home with his mother to find his brother missing. With some limited information from Castiel the trio headed out to track down the younger Winchester brother. Unfortunately, they got waylaid by one of Toni’s associates, but she was eventually killed by Mary. And Crowley realized that Lucifer was jumping from vessel to vessel after being hurt by Amara. Desperate to restore his reputation and reclaim his throne, he set out to find the Devil. Read our full recap of the episode.

In the next episode, Dean, Mary and Castiel get a new lead on Sam and set out to rescue him. Photos for the episode indicate that the Winchester brothers will be reunited by the end of the episode — and that Sam will see his mother again. Elsewhere next week, Crowley learns that Lucifer has taken over the body of rock star Vince Vicente. This will eventually lead to a  road trip with Crowley and Castiel trying to hunt down Vince/Lucifer in episode 12.03.

Watch a preview below for the next episode of SUPERNATURAL airing on October 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Season 12 Premiere Sneak Peek: Mary Adjusts to a New World

October 13, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

Mary Winchester has been dead for over three decades and when she returns to SUPERNATURAL she’s going to find herself adjusting to a whole new world. Not only are there technological advances that weren’t around in the early 1980s (see: the iPhone), but there’s also the fact that her boys are no longer babies….they’re grown men (although, you have to assume she’s going to be thinking “John and I made some good-looking kids!”)

In a new sneak peek from the season 12 premiere we see that Castiel has picked up on her “fish-out-of-water” vibe and explains that he also felt out of sorts when he first arrived on earth. But all of this introspection is put aside to focus on the task at hand: saving Sam.

Dean joins the others with some bad news: their one lead is a plane that Toni Bevell flew in on. Unfortunately, it’s got diplomatic designation and they won’t be able to track it. But Cas seems to notice something in the distance and, presumably, the group goes off to investigate.

Tune in to the season premiere of SUPERNATURAL tonight (October 13) at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Season 12 Sneak Peek: The Cast Teases What’s to Come

October 11, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

SUPERNATURAL is returning for its twelfth season this week and the Winchsters are facing a few big challenges. Chief among them is the fact that their long-deceased mother, Mary Winchester, has been brought back to life. Given the fact that Dean was just a young boy when she died — and the fact that Sam never got to know his mother at all — this is a big deal. Then, of course, there’s the British Men of Letters, who have taken Sam hostage. And there’s Lucifer, who is free thanks to Castiel. Both Cas and Crowley want him locked up again, albeit for very different reasons.

The CW has put out a few interviews with the cast of SUPERNATURAL, each of which feature never-before-seen sneak peeks from the first few episodes. Here’s what we’ve learned from them:

-Sam seems pretty confident when faced with the British MOL. After all, this guy has been tortured by the Devil, so he’s certain he can take whatever they’re dishing out. We’re going to see what the MOL are after pretty quickly, according to Jared Padalecki.

-Mary’s return will give the Winchesters a big opportunity to be sons, which is not something we really saw with John.

-Lucifer has control over Hell again, but Mark Sheppard introduces a clip where we learn that Lucifer is jumping from vessel to vessel. And as long as he’s alive, Crowley won’t be able to regain his throne as King of Hell.

-Castiel feels guilty for letting Lucifer out of his cage and he’s determined to “set things right,” says Misha Collins, which is going to involve him hunting the Devil. Cas also has a camaraderie with Mary, who is a bit of an outsider in modern times.

Tune in for the season premiere of SUPERNATURAL on Thursday, October 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Extended Preview: Ghosts, Nazis, a New Devil and an Expanded Winchester Family is Coming in Season 12

October 7, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

The SUPERNATURAL production team is no stranger to cool-looking previews. Last season they started putting out bloopers and special promos on a YouTube channel and now they’ve delivered an extended preview for season 12 full of moody music and reverse action. To be specific, the majority of the preview below actually shows scenes in reverse, allowing the audience to see a lot of awesome special effects (such as a door getting put back together before a man slams through it).

The preview below seemingly covers several episodes in the first 8 episodes of the season. We know that the first two episodes will focus on the search for Sam, who has been kidnapped by the British Men of Letters and is being tortured. In episode 3 we’ll see Mary hunting with her boys. Episode 5, meanwhile, will have the return of the Thule Society and an appearance by Hitler (or the SUPERNATURAL version of Hitler, according to producer Andrew Dabb). Another episode later in 2016 will feature the Winchester brothers doled up in leather jackets as they attend a rock concert — one seemingly performed by Vince Vincete (a.k.a. Lucifer’s new vessel).

Watch the new SUPERNATURAL preview below and don’t miss the season premiere on Thursday, October 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
