The last time we saw Casifer on SUPERNATURAL, he had been taken hostage by his aunt, Amara. As one of God’s last remaining archangels, she was hoping to torture her nephew in order to draw her brother out.

Will it work? We now know that Chuck is God and he returned in the last episode (read our recap), so we are probably heading for a family reunion. But before we can see a brother-sister showdown, someone needs to rescue Casifer from Amara’s clutches.

Concerned for their friend, Dean and Sam will attempt to mount a rescue in an upcoming episode so they can get him away from Amara. But how will they actually get Lucifer out of Cas? That remains to be seen.

SUPERNATURAL Recap: Chuck Returns…But Is He God?

May 4, 2016 By Clarissa 1 Comment

supernatural

Metatron was down on his luck in this week’s SUPERNATURAL, dumpster diving for food. At the edge of his rope, he shouted to the heavens that he simply can’t take it any longer. A moment later he was whisked away to a different plane — a bar that he insisted is a construct of God. And there sat Carver Edlund…a.k.a. Chuck Shurley….a.k.a. GOD.

That’s right, SUPERNATURAL has solved one of the show’s greatest mysteries and proclaimed Chuck to be God. It turns out that he can’t be seen for who he is unless he reveals his true self, which he did to his former scribe (who them promptly dropped to his knees to worship him). He wanted Metatron to read his autobiography and offer up some critiques, but Metatron isn’t a huge fan of his writing. And then he reminded Chuck that his story actually began with him…and his sister. But Chuck doesn’t want to talk about her. We’re sensing some animosity between the world’s first siblings.

Meanwhile, the Winchesters headed to Idaho to investigate a man who killed a co-worker and then himself, thinking that it could be related to Amara. And it turned out they were right, because after finding out that the dead man had black veins (just like Amara’s victims at the beginning of the season), a huge fog started rolling through town and infecting people…including Deputy Harris.

Up in God’s bar, Metatron continued to tell Chuck how he should improve his writing — including writing more about the archangels. The scribe insisted that God’s memoir didn’t include enough honesty. Soon he admitted something — he created life because he lonely. And Amara was “nothingness”, so she wasn’t good enough to keep him company. Every time he built a new world, Amara would destroy it, so God and his archangels locked her away and God got to creating. But now he seems convinced Amara will destroy this world too. Despite Metatron insisting that God needs to take some responsibility for Amara, God says it’s just her time to shine. Called a coward, God got pissy with Metatron, insisting that he wasn’t hiding, he was just tired of seeing his creations fail.

In Idaho, the Winchesters tried to rally the police force and were confronted by the deputy, who had a message for the boys: Amara was going to destroy everyone…but not Dean. As the brothers tried to help evacuate the town, they took shelter in the police station as the fog spread. But the plague got inside and started infecting people…including Sam. As others inside barricaded themselves further, Dean refused to leave his brother.

Metatron continued to drop truth bombs on God, telling him it wasn’t only the humans who prayed for God…the angels did as well. Why did God abandon them all? Because they all disappointed him. Metatron insisted that humans were truly God’s greatest creation and he should not give up on them, because they never give up in general.

Just as all hope seemed lost, Dean realized that the fog couldn’t infect him and he looked up and shouted “Stop this! You hear me, you dick?!” And it turned out that God didn’t totally abandon his children, because he sent the Winchester brothers the “samulet”, glowing white and bright with his power. The power to stop the fog and cure everyone.

And then, a reunion. As Sam and Dean were amazed to see everyone recovering around town, the amulet led the boys straight to Chuck…who said “we should probably talk”.

In the next episode of SUPERNATURAL, Amara taunts the Winchesters by showing them how she’s torturing Casifer and the brothers decide to mount a rescue for their friend as Dean tries to convinced Chuck it’s time he steps up and defeats his sister.

SUPERNATURAL airs on Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Sneak Peek: Ironing With Beer

May 4, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

We happen upon a very domestic scene at the beginning of this week’s SUPERNATURAL, with Dean ironing Sam’s dress shirt in the kitchen of the bunker.

The scene is quickly interrupted by Sam coming by with some news. Apparently the brothers have been keeping an eye out for Amara and the younger Winchester brother has a lead — albeit a long shot. A man in Idaho snapped and killed himself after killing a co-worker. Was he possessed? Was he soulless? The brothers aren’t sure, but they’re willing to investigate.

When they arrive they discover that Amara has unleashed her black veins virus on the townspeople, but Sam and Dean’s “cure” doesn’t seem to be working any longer.

SUPERNATURAL Preview: Amara Strikes Again

April 27, 2016 By Clarissa 1 Comment

supernatural

Something strange was attacking young people in this week’s SUPERNATURAL and after getting bitten the victims would turn into “buzzing” attackers themselves, becoming very lustful. It turns out the monster resurfaces every 27 years, reproduces and then they eventually die off, repeating the cycle again. The Winchesters met a couple of hunters, one of whom had lost his brother to this creature, so they teamed up to take it down. Eventually they put the creature down and found the bones of the lost brother, giving him a proper hunter’s funeral.

The next episode of SUPERNATURAL is going to bring about a reunion that’s almost six years in the making. Chuck Shurley may have made an appearance in the tenth season at the end of the 200th episode, but the Winchesters haven’t seen the prophet since he helped them avert the apocalypse at the end of season 5. The question is, however, will the prophet tell the Winchesters that he is, in fact, God? This is a theory which many fans have believed for a long time.

We don’t know the answer to that yet, but here’s what we do know: Amara returns and unleashes a new black vein virus on a small town. This one is stronger than the previous plague she unleashed at the beginning of the season, so Sam and Dean’s previous cure isn’t working. Meanwhile, Chuck is also returning with “an interesting proposal”. Has he finally made a reappearance to deal with his sister? Another familiar face also returns: Metatron. And he seems pretty upset about what’s happening because of the release of The Darkness.

There’s been a debate since the end of season 5 of SUPERNATURAL as to what, exactly, Chuck Shurley is. He was first introduced as a prophet in season 4, but the season 5 finale, “Swan Song”, heavily implied that he might be God (with a capital “G”). That was the last time he was scene on the show, save for a brief appearance at the end of the 200th episode. But the debate as to whether Chuck really is God has raged for years. It appears that SUPERNATURAL is going to give fans a definitive answer to that question with Chuck’s reappearance. If he is God, then it’s a good time to come back, as the Winchesters will have their hands full trying to defeat his sister.

In an early May episode, Amara returns and unleashes a dark fog and a plague on a small town, which causes everyone to go mad. Sam and Dean realize this is just a stronger version of the original virus she released early in the season, so they team up with the sheriff to protect the town. Unfortunately, their old remedy no longer works. Enter Chuck? The CW says that Chuck (Rob Benedict) will return “with an interesting proposal”. Will he also spill the beans on his true nature?

What are the Chitters? It’s unclear, but all we know is that the Winchesters will soon be fighting these creatures when SUPERNATURAL returns from a two-week hiatus.

We’ve seen Sam and Dean take on some pretty interesting — and weird — monsters over the last 11 years, but this looks like something new even for them. In a small town in Colorado, mysterious disappearances are happening every 27 years. Sam and Dean head to the town to investigate. Someone suspects it’s aliens, but Sam believes they’re dealing with some sort of mutant creature with green eyes. During the investigation, the Winchesters meet two hunters who actually have a personal vendetta against these these once-in-a-generation monsters.
