The CW Teasers: Next Season on SUPERNATURAL, ARROW, DYNASTY, ROSWELL and More

May 16, 2019 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

After announcing its new fall schedule, The CW also released a few teasers for the new seasons of several shows. Not all shows got this treatment, bu there’s a few tidbits to glean from the details below.

SUPERNATURAL. The epic journey of the Winchester brothers come to a close as SUPERNATURAL enters its final season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have battled demons and angels, mythical creatures and monsters, in a seemingly unending quest to save the world. But in the final battle of the show’s 14th season, they face off against God Himself (Rob Benedict), refusing to kill their surrogate nephilim son Jack (Alexander Calvert), and thus bringing about God’s decision to end this reality once and for all…

ALL AMERICAN. The return of ALL AMERICAN finds Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), now a football State Champion, with a tough decision to make. Does he stay in Beverly Hills and play for Coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs)? Or does he move back home to South LA, reunite with his mother, Grace (Karimah Westbrook), brother, Dillon (Jalyn Hall), and play for his father, Corey (Chad Coleman) – the new head coach for the South Crenshaw Chargers? This isn’t an easy decision for him to make because it’s not just about football. It’s about choosing between the people he loves. No longer is Beverly Hills just some affluent place that represents his shot out of the hood. Now, he has friends there, including his antagonist turned ally, Asher (Cody Christian), who’s fighting to hold on to his football dreams. He has his girlfriend there, Layla (Greta Onieogou), who’s secretly battling her own demons. And most importantly, he has a second family there in the likes of the Bakers – Billy, Laura (Monét Mazur), Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) and Olivia (Samantha Logan) – who are struggling to adapt to the new normal of their broken home. However, when Spencer’s thrown an unexpected curve ball, the fallout to his life will end up affecting everyone he holds dear, including his best friend, Coop (Bre-Z), who’s trying to take control of her life by stepping back from gangs and pursuing her musical dreams.

ARROW. After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, Oliver successfully saved his city with the help of his team including former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), former protégé Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez), metahuman Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) and Earth-2 Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). In the wake of discovering what his future holds, Oliver will find himself pit against his most challenging battle yet, one that will leave the multiverse hanging in the balance. In Arrow’s final season, Oliver Queen is forced to confront the reality of what it means to be a hero.

LEGACIES. Set in the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, LEGACIES tells the story of the next generation of supernatural beings as they learn what it means to be special in a world that may never understand. Typically a school for vampires like MG (Quincy Fouse), werewolves like Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) and witches like twins Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) and Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant), the kids and their beloved headmaster Dr. Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) were stunned to come face to face with a series of monsters and creatures they had only ever heard of in myth and lore. A dragon. A gargoyle. The Headless Horseman. The evil behind the real-life resurrection of these formerly fictional beings proved to have a horrifying connection to the school’s newest student, Landon Kirby (Aria Shahghasemi.). This led his first and only love Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell), the school’s shining star, to sacrifice her place at the school — and in the world — to protect Landon from a terrible fate. The new season will show us a world without Hope Mikaelson and all the chaos that goes along with it. All the while, Hope will be trying to find her way back to the school she has learned to call home and the friends she has learned to love like family. It will be filled with new monsters and more romantic and emotional surprises than ever.

DYNASTY. As DYNASTY hurtles into its explosive third season, the Carrington family will face the unknown on all fronts. Dealing with the fallout from the startling second season finale, Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) is surrounded by a host of rivals looking to destroy her, the most wicked of which is her own brother, Adam (Sam Underwood), who takes the idea of “sibling rivalry” to a whole new level of crazy. At the same time, Fallon and Liam (Adam Huber) attempt to keep their romance sane, but secrets and skeletons from her closet will make that more difficult than ever. And after a year of “me” time, Blake (Grant Show) will jump back in the game, ruthlessly determined to reclaim what’s rightfully his: the family company Fallon sold out from under him. Only problem is that the newest Colby in town, Blake’s half-sister Dominique (Michael Michele), is here to stay and she isn’t backing down from a fight over what’s rightfully hers, either. Meanwhile, Sammy Jo (Rafael De La Fuente) enters an exhilarating phase of the upper-class life, but amongst the thrills of his newfound freedom, there will be dangers lurking. Plus, who knows what faces – new and old, friendly and unfriendly – will pop up! The road ahead is full of the shocking twists and turns you’ve come to expect from the Carrington world. And if we know anything by this point in the series, it’s that our fractured family will have to find a way to come together if they are to claw their way back to the top of the billionaire mountain.

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. As we reach the conclusion of season four, a demon named Neron has possessed the body of Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), leaving John Constantine (Matt Ryan) to wrest Ray’s soul from the hands of Astra Logue (Olivia Swann), the “innocent girl” he failed to rescue from Hell years all those long years ago. Meanwhile, up in our world, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and her girlfriend Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) must deal with a magical creature-fueled paranoia. Harvesting souls via an insidious Palmer Tech app, Neron is poised to “Make Earth Hell Again.” To make matters worse, Sara’s Timeship has been turned into a Noah’s Ark for various unruly monsters and magical creatures. Oh, and Ava’s Time Bureau was taken over by an evil Fairy Godmother. To defeat Neron, the Legends realize in the end that they will have to sacrifice one of their own. But it gets way worse… In attempting to change her future, Zari Tomaz (Tala Ashe) will accidentally change not just the past she shared with Nate Heywood (Nick Zano), but fundamentally change who the Legends are in season five. Can our team go back to who they were next season? Can a reformed arsonist turned romance novelist Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), a half-werewolf named Mona Wu (Ramona Young), and a punk rocker shapeshifter named Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) stop the literal Hell that Astra unleashes on the world in the finale? And what happens when the Legends awaken the original guardians of Time (no, not the Time Masters, sillies, that was season one!) who wish to erase everything the Legends have “screwed up for the better” over the past four seasons?

ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO. Once again, an Ortecho sister with a sharp tongue and a chip on her shoulder is back in Roswell after ten years gone… and she’s about to discover she’s been serving mint chip milkshakes to intergalactic aliens all her life. In the final moments of season one, Max Evans (Nathan Dean Parsons) used his alien powers to resurrect Rosa (Amber Midthunder) a decade after her murder… not realizing that he was sacrificing his own life in the process. In season two, Liz (Jeanine Mason) mourns her lost love by seeking comfort in science, both earthly and extraterrestrial, as Rosa turns to Kyle (Michael Trevino) to help her find her place in the unfamiliar territory of 2019. In their grief, Isobel (Lily Cowles) explores potentially dangerous methods of self-defense, and Michael (Michael Vlamis) spirals into some old bad habits, putting his relationships with Maria (Heather Hemmens) and Alex (Tyler Blackburn) at risk. Finally, our heroes must make a deal with Jesse Manes (Trevor St. John) for information after a friend seems to vanish into thin air… and the apparent “alien abduction” brings new small-town secrets to light.

SUPERNATURAL Season Finale Recap: How Do You Solve a Problem Like Jack?

April 25, 2019 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

This is it, folks, the very last SUPERNATURAL season finale. At this time next year, we’ll be watching the show’s series finale. And we open the season 14 finale right where we ended the penultimate episode — Jack has escaped from the box and he’s *furious* at the Winchesters and Castiel. After a tremendous flexing of his power, he disappears out of the bunker, leaving the boys and Cas on the floor, and the room totally destroyed. The trio quickly deduces that Jack has “levelled up” and his powers were too great to be contained by the box.

As Castiel laments, again, that the brothers shouldn’t have put Jack in the box, Dean is still angry that Cas kept the extent of Jack’s problems from them. He declares that the brothers will take care of Jack, who he calls just another monster. Castiel storms off and Dean tells Sam he understands that this is hard for both of them, but they need to do the tough thing here because it’s the right thing to do.

Outside in the world, Jack seems angry that everyone around him is lying to other people and he manages to almost freeze time for a moment. In other words, his powers keep growing. And we soon see that Jack’s order for people to “stop lying!” has tremendous repercussions. As the brothers head out to find a lead on Jack, Sam gets Rowena’s buy-in for their plan, as insane as it apparently is. Soon they have arrived at Mirror Universe, a company that builds facial recognition software, which Sam wants to use to find Jack. But soon we realize that Jack’s declaration means that *no one* can lie anymore. Not in that town, and not anywhere else. Sam realizes that Jack is responsible for all of this as the people in the company descend into chaos.

Meanwhile, Castiel has sought out a demon to take him to Hell. But she’s not in a giving mood and shuts the door on him. Enter Chuck (a.k.a. God), who quickly surmises that Castiel is “screwed”. He explains that Castiel had successfully called him in a previous episode and now he’s here to deal with Jack, who Chuck labels as a “problem”. They quickly turn up at Mirror Universe to witness the chaos there, while Castiel calls out for the brothers. As Chuck tries to sing about where he’s been, Dean furiously grabs his guitar and smashes it, causing Chuck to scream out “don’t!”. He quickly transports them to back to the bunker and says he’s been connecting with Amara, who is now in Reno, while he has returned for Jack. He’s only back now because Jack is apocalyptic, which is a situation where he feels he has to intervene.

“Can you fix it?” Castiel asks Chuck about their current truth problem. Chuck quickly snaps his fingers, allowing people to lie again, and essentially resetting the last few minutes we witnessed. When asked if Chuck can stop Jack, he says no, but they can….by using a gun he has gifted them. Chuck tells the others that this gun can kill Jack, but it doesn’t have bullets. Because the universe is all about balance, it doesn’t fire bullets. Instead, it sends a multi-dimensional blast that will level the playing field, so to speak. In other words, if you “shoot” someone with it, you’ll also die.

Cas doesn’t realize why they’re talking about killing Jack because he wants Chuck to return Jack’s soul. But Chuck says souls are complicated, even for him. Dean insists that this is the only way, so Cas needs to get on board or walk away, and Cas chooses to walk. Shortly after, Sam finds Dean drinking in his room and tells his brother that they still have a choice. Dean doesn’t need to pull the trigger like Sam knows he wants to do. Instead, Sam says they should try to save Jack. Sam also points out that he originally brought Jack back because he’s family, and Jack burned off his soul to save both of them. Sam refuses to tell Dean he’s okay with losing both Jack and Dean at the same time because he’s already lost too much.

Meanwhile, throughout all of this, Jack returns to speak to his grandmother, who tells him she doesn’t want to talk. She admits that she knows he didn’t work with Kelly and she believes her daughter is dead. She demands to know what Jack did to Kelly, and he erupts at her before quickly leaving, but we don’t yet see what he did to her. Soon after leaving the bunker, Castiel takes his truck and stops at a park, furious at the situation, while Jack appears behind him and Cas hugs him. Jack explains what he did with the lying situation and then says he went to visit his grandparents. He admits he no longer feels anything and tells Castiel that he showed his glowing eyes to his grandmother and then quickly departed, shocked at her horrified reaction to him.

Back at the bunker, Sam talks to Chuck about alternate universes, who tells him that there’s all sorts of other strange dimensions (including one without the colour yellow). Sam wants to know if God created and then discarded these other worlds and whether he’s doing the same to their world. But Chuck says that this version of Sam and Dean are his favourite out of all the Sams and Deans in the multi-verse. Chuck also admits that he does watch them when he’s not with them because they’re his “favorite show”, but Sam is furious that they always have to step up when the chips are down. “Because you’re my guys,” Chuck explains. Sam is shocked to learn that Chuck is actually frightened of Jack and Chuck admits he knows where the boy is and that Dean is already gone.

At the park, Jack and Cas are sitting on a bench and Castiel says they need to go somewhere safe where no one can find them until they can fix this. But Dean has already arrived to deliver his brand of justice. Castiel stands up to face Dean, while Dean tells him to step aside. Cas tells Jack to run, but Jack says “I won’t run anymore” before flinging Cas away with his powers. Then Jack kneels on the ground and waits for Dean to shoot him, while Sam peels up in another car. Sam is crying out Dean’s name as he runs up to the others, while Dean and Jack stare at another and Jack says Dean was right all along. “I am a monster” he says sadly.

Sam begs a recently appeared Chuck to do something, and when he doesn’t Sam accuses him of “enjoying this”. Dean cocks the gun as he continues to stare at Jack, but he soon lowers the weapon and throws it away.

“No, pick it up!” Chuck orders Dean. “This isn’t how the story is supposed to end. This is Abraham and Isaac, this is epic!” Sam realizes that Chuck has been playing them “this whole time. Our entire lives. This is all you, because you wrote it all.” Chuck tells Dean that Sam is crazy and if Dean shoots Jack, he’ll bring Mary back. But Dean refuses. “My mom was my hero and I miss her. I’ll miss her every second of my life. But she would not want this. And it’s not like you even really care, because Sam’s right.” Sam and Dean want to know where Chuck was when they were suffering and losing people they loved. “When does it end? Tell me!” Sam asks God.

Dean insists this isn’t just a story, this is their lives. “So God or no God, you go to Hell.”

“Have it your way,” Chuck says just before he snaps his fingers, causing grace to shoot out of Jack. Chuck flings Dean away as Castiel kneels by a screaming Jack and Sam….

Sam picks up the gun, yells “hey, Chuck!” and fires the weapon.

But Sam didn’t actually kill God, he just shot him in the shoulder, causing Sam to also get shot. “Fine, that’s the way you want it?” Chuck says to them. “Story’s over. Welcome to the end”. Meta, indeed, as we head into SUPERNATURAL’s final season.

Night appears instantly, as Castiel stands over Jack’s dead body. Moments later, we see Jack wake up in the Empty, where the black gooey entity faces him and Billie appears behind him, saying “we should talk.”

Back on Earth, an earthquake starts, and the souls of beings in Hell start flying up into the sky. On the side of the road, a Woman in White appears. At a children’s birthday party, a killer clown shows up at the door, while other demons and monsters appear in people’s homes. Zombies show up in the cemetery.

In other words, Chuck has very literally unleashed Hell on Earth.

The Winchester brothers and Castiel prepare to face off against the zombies, as they close in on them.

SUPERNATURAL has been renewed for a fifteenth and final season and it looks like they’ll really have to face “the end” beginning in the fall.

SUPERNATURAL Season Finale Photos: How Can the Winchesters Defeat Jack?

April 19, 2019 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

This is it, folks, the last SUPERNATURAL season finale ever. When the season 15 finale ends around this time next year, it will actually be the series finale. But before we travel down the road of the final season, we need to see how the big battle between the Winchesters, Castiel and Jack will shake out. In the penultimate episode of the season, Sam and Dean decided to try and stop Jack from abusing his terrible powers by locking him in the box that Dean was originally going to use to trap himself while he was possessed by Michael. Unfortunately, as we soon came to learn, Jack was far too powerful to be contained by the box. Now he’s escaped and he’s very angry at the brothers for tricking him into the box.

Don’t miss the season finale of SUPERNATURAL on April 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Photos: How to Handle Jack?

April 15, 2019 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

Jack has officially gone off the deep end on SUPERNATURAL. After (accidentally) killing Mary Winchester, Sam and Dean were understandably upset at the boy. And now that his powers seem plentiful and his soul seems gone, the brothers Winchester and Castiel will need to figure out how to stop Jack, who has become quite the threat.

In the next episode, we know that Jack is still reeling from what he’s done (and his failure to successfully retrieve her from Heaven). He still feels guilt and isolation from his family, but Sam and Dean need to figure out how to handle him. Will this lead to them trying to kill him? Or can Jack’s soul be returned? Meanwhile, Castiel will be seeking help from the other angels to deal with the nephilim, but the angels might have plans of their own for him.

The pentulimate episode of season 14 of SUPERNATURAL will air on April 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Photos: How Dangerous is Jack?

April 4, 2019 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

This week’s SUPERNATURAL ended with a bit of a cliffhanger — has Jack become the show’s new big bad? After banishing Lucifer and preventing him from returning from The Empty and taking possession of Nick again, Jack chose to torture Nick and burnt him to a crisp. Mary, who had concerns about Jack throughout the episode, lovingly told him that there was something wrong with him, but insisted that they would all help him. And then, horribly, he appeared to do something to Mary. In next week’s episode, the brothers seem wise to the fact that something is terribly wrong with Jack and that what Cas feared is true: he has no soul.

Unfortunately, this is SUPERNATURAL, so situations soon turn dire. Sam and Dean will be heading out on the road to help an old friend in need. Meanwhile, it looks like Mary will be babysitting Jack. And apparently she’s been briefed on what’s been happening with him lately, because she’s very concerned for him. Finally, Castiel will be seeking help from Jo/Anael.

SUPERNATURAL is coming to an end. Today, Jared Padalecki posted on his Twitter account that the show’s upcoming fifteenth season will be the last. SUPERNATURAL first debuted in 2005 on the old WB network, only a year before it became The CW. It has outlasted every show that premiered around the same time, jumping around nights of the week and maintaining a consistent group of loyal viewers. The show has tackled everything, from Heaven to Hell, Purgatory, demons, angels and all manner of monsters. The only question is: how will the Winchester brothers go out? Will it be a big sacrifice or retiring from hunting altogether? Only time will tell. The show’s current season is set to end on April 25 and the final season will consist of 20 episodes.

“Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera,” executive producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb said in a statement. “For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible. We’d like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the send off they deserve.”

Hey #SPNFamily here’s a little message from @JensenAckles @mishacollins and me. I’m so grateful for the family that’s been built because of the show. Excuse me while i go cry. pic.twitter.com/QDXDsAyIfK
