Butch and Sundance.  Jesse and Frank James.  Bonnie and Clyde.  Bonnie and Damon.  Wait, Bonnie and Damon?  Make that Bonnie and Damon and Enzo.

Tonight on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, “Bamon-zo” turns assassin to eliminate the vampires on Rayna’s (guest star Leslie-Anne Huff) “hit list,” with a little help from their friends.

What possibly could motivate such an alliance?  Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has driven away most of his friends.

Alaric (Matt Davis) has broken off their bromance.  After years of being incarcerated together, Damon chose to escape rather than save Enzo from a fire.

Stefan (Paul Wesley) has faced, yet again, that his brother is undependable, at best.

But, when Bonnie (Kat Graham) slammed the door in his face and on their relationship, Damon truly was crushed.

What can make those whom he has alienated answer his call to arms?  Bonnie’s impending death from the pills that were made from Rayna’s blood.

With only four episodes left this season, expect answers to some of the questions of what happens in between the present and “three years from now.”

What to expect…

1.   When Enzo (Michael Malarkey) gave Bonnie pills made from Rayna’s blood, he was trying to help her.  Expect him to go any lengths to save his new love from the unintentional death sentence that he has inflicted on her.

2.   Rayna will agree to consider helping Bonnie if the vampires released from the Phoenix Stone are destroyed.  The visions of the escaped vampires are driving her insane, and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo’s offer may be the only way for her to have any peace.

3.   Bonnie’s deteriorating condition will bring the Mystic Fallers together to save their friend.  When a scab appears on Bonnie’s hand, Enzo will tell her that she has less than a week to live.

4.   The anti-magic pills will wear off in two days, and Alexandria (guest star Mouzam Makkar) will be able to track Bonnie and abduct her for her own purposes.

5.  Enzo will learn The Armory’s true motives behind the search for Bonnie. Alexandria will tell Enzo that her mentally-disturbed sister, Virginia, killed Lucy Bennett, and Bonnie is the only one who can help Alex save her other sister, Yvette, entombed in the Armory.

6.   Damon will threaten Enzo, furious about the mistake with the pills.  They will argue over which man made the bigger mistake…. Enzo with the pills or Damon’s decision to save his friends by retreating to his coffin.  Bonnie will stop the confrontation, telling Damon that she loves Enzo.

7.   Damon will do anything and everything that he can to save Bonnie, killing a long list of vampires in two days, including the Heretic, Beau.

8.  Alaric (Matt Davis) temporarily un-suspended his moratorium on his friendship with Damon last week to help save Stefan with a vampire hunt.  Irritated with himself over “how good that felt,” Alaric returned to Caroline (Candice King) and the twins to live in un-supernatural domesticity.  He will be pulled back into the hunting lifestyle once more to help Bonnie.

9.  When Stefan drops by the Saltzman/Forbes household, he will spot the couple’s upcoming wedding date on a calendar and will confirm that Alaric has fallen in love with Caroline.

10.  Caroline, still heartbroken over Stefan’s disappearing act, will ignore him at her house.  Alaric will tell him that even though she is still in love with Stefan, he hopes that she will opt to marry Alaric in Dallas rather than returning to the younger Salvatore brother.

11.  Stefan will not give up hope on Caroline, realizing that she and Alaric are still sleeping in separate beds.

12.   Will the potential wedding be postponed to pitch in on the fight for Bonnie’s life, or was it never going to happen anyway?

13.  Will Alaric’s desire to live “supernatural free” break him apart from Caroline?

14.  Will Ric remain in Dallas with the twins while Caroline returns to vampire life?  And, if so, does that signal Davis’s departure from the series for a second time?

15.  Will Matt’s (Zach Roerig) hatred of Stefan and the story of Penny’s demise be resolved?  Will the two former friend become friends once more?

16.  After the vampires on Rayna’s list are killed, will she still agree to do what she can to help cure Bonnie?

17.  Is Alex’s promise to help Bonnie if she frees Yvette just as empty as it was when she promised to help Mary Louise because there is no cure?

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES also guest stars Scott Christopher Kelly and Tierney Mumford.  Tonight’s episode, “Somebody That I Used to Know,” was written Matthew D’Ambrosio (story) and Holly Brix (teleplay).

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND Finale Teasers: Having a Moment

April 18, 2016 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

crazy ex-girlfriend

Greg and Rebecca’s new “relationship” is out in the open thanks to the penultimate episode of CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, but is this crazy new couple destined to last through to season 2? You’ll find out on the season finale this week!

The Start of Something? Greg and Rebecca seem to really be coming together at the beginning of the episode, with Greg admitting he never wanted to be on his “hot date” that night and Rebecca admitting she had lied about all of the other dates she said she had. Out in the hospital hallway, Greg seems happy to tell Josh he should take his flowers for Rebecca and leave because Rebecca isn’t into him any longer. But despite Josh bowing out at the hospital, it’s clear that Greg is still worried that Rebecca is just settling for him. So his new plan is to act both casual and uninterested around her.

A Betrayal. Paula has calmed down from her hysterical scene in Rebecca’s hospital room, but she’s still furious at Rebecca — for lying to her *and* for sleeping with Greg. And then she lists everything she’s done for Rebecca (which Rebecca insists she didn’t ask for) to help Rebecca get Josh — and it’s a crazy, impressive list. Enough for a song. Then she leaves with a warning: “if you think you’re over Josh, you’re fooling yourself”.

Being Patient. Josh tells Valencia that he’s not oblivious to the fact that she’s waited a long time for the next step, but he wants her to let him do it in his own time.

Having a Moment. After Greg’s odd recent behaviour, Rebecca desperately wants to have a romantic “moment” with him that will define their new relationship, just like in the movies. But her neighbor suggests that she be honest and give up on the fantasy. Still, that’s difficult for Rebecca, so she decides to attend Jayma’s wedding with Greg so they can have a moment.

The Wedding. Broadway star Lea Salonga makes an appearance as Josh and Jayma’s aunt Verna, who is singing at the wedding. All of our main players are there and the wedding is full of big moments, including three confessions, a blow-up, an unexpected hook-up and a huge apology. But you’ll have to watch the episode to see who does what!

Don’t miss the season finale of CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. The show has already been renewed for a second season.

DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Preview: Gunsmoke

April 14, 2016 By Melissa Smith Leave a Comment

Legends photo 111 Magnificent Eight group shot

Of all of the characters in DC Comics, Jonah Hex has to be the one with the most convoluted history.  Given the retcons suffered by some of the DC characters, being the “most convoluted” is saying something.

Legends photo 111 Magnificent Eight DC drawing

Debuting in the “All-Star Western” series, the magazine soon was retitled “Weird Western Tales” for apparent reasons.  A gunslinger with half of his face distorted by scar tissue is a little odd, but definitely not outside the realm of plausibility.

But when said gunfighter ends up fighting everything from a T-Rex to Stonewall Jackson, filing his story under “Weird Western Tales” seems fitting.

That being said, Hex was destined to get his own title, and the Jonah Hex series quickly became a fan favorite.

Legends photo 111 Magnificent Eight Jonah Hex copy

A Confederate soldier, Jonah still managed to fight against slavery.  It would be interesting to know how many history majors got their first taste of the subject by reading Jonah Hex.

His interaction with Native Americans showing them as real people, not the faceless “bad guy Injuns” of the movies and his attempts to right the wrongs against the oppressed make him a hero in a world where racism seemed acceptable.

He also taught his readers that being a hero does not consist of being the best looking guy on the block.  His heroism comes from the heart, which wipes away the scarred exterior and gives hope to those who are insecure in their looks.  He maintains his own moral code, despite the prevailing ideas of the time.

But what we never knew about Jonah Hex was that he is friends with Rip Hunter.  When Rip and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow need a safe time and place to hide, they pilot the Waverider to an old west town named “Salvation.”  Why does it seem that there is little salvation to be found in Salvation?

There are a few things to note about this episode, “The Magnificent Eight.”  The title references the great John Sturges western, The Magnificent Seven, in which seven gunfighters ban together to defend a village that is the home of Mexican peasants.  If you have never seen it, rent it, even if you hate westerns.

Steve McQueen, grandfather of The Vampire Diaries’s Steven R. McQueen, heads a stellar cast, and the film is a westernized version of famed Japanese filmmaker, Akira Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai.  Rent that one, too.

What does all of this have to do with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow?  Well, guess what group lands in Salvation, just as the town needs to be defended from an invading gang of outlaws…

If you really hate westerns, tune in for the peripherals.  Just as they did in the “Frontierland” episode of Supernatural, the costumers in Vancouver rock the western look with some of the finest duds that ever graced the Old West.

Dressed to perfection, each of the Legends gets the special costume treatment, and check out Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) in his finest “John Wayne” attire.

Also, be sure to check out the Rip Hunter gunfight.  Arthur Darvill looks like he was born to be a cowboy.  Who knew that a Brit could sling a gun like that?

By the time the episode is over, chances are that viewers who are unfamiliar with Jonah Hex will understand why DC chose to enable his travel through time, fighting beside the present-day Batman and with the Justice League.  Heroes need a moral compass, and there is no doubt that Jonah Hex is one of those guys.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow also stars Victor Garber, Caity Lotz, Ciara Renée, Franz Drameh, Amy Pemberton, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell.

Johnathon Schaech guest stars as Jonah Hex, and Casper Crump returns as Vandal Savage.  Glen Gordon and Mike Kovac also guest star.

“The Magnificent Eight” was written by Executive Producers Greg Berlanti & Marc Guggenheim (story) with the teleplay written by Marc Guggenheim.  Thor Freudenthal directed the episode.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs tonight (April 14) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW in the U.S.

ARROW Commentary: Looking For A Mericle Cure

April 13, 2016 By Melissa Smith 2 Comments

Black Canary comic

I am hoping for a Mericle cure, pun intended, for the death of Black Canary.

The next episode of ARROW will air on April 27th and be headed by its own team of female superheroes…Executive Producer Wendy Mericle, Co-Producer Beth Schwartz and Director Laura Belsey.

Marc Guggenheim has said, “Laurel Lance is dead.”  But, I never have read where anyone has said, “Black Canary is dead.”

And I am banking on that.

Since the beginning of moving pictures, strong women have struggled to find their place in the world of cinema and television.

Actress Mary Pickford was smart enough to co-found United Artists, but gained fame by playing the damsel-in-distress onscreen.

Television pioneer, Lucille Ball, was a prolific producer who ran Desilu Studios, yet had to play the bumbling Lucy Ricardo to achieve her greatest fame.

Disney princesses have evolved to be strong role models for little girls, but when I was a child, the princess waited to be saved by the handsome prince. I always had what my mother described as “the patience of a gnat,” and waiting for anything, including the handsome prince. never appealed to me.

So, I turned to comic books and cartoons.

In that wondrous world, there was no waiting.  Women were allowed to be smart, strong, snarky and sexy. Sure, Lois Lane always was getting saved by Superman, but generally she got into trouble because her intrepid-reporter instincts drove her to get the story, regardless of the risk.

But, there also was Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Mercy Graves and even crazy ole Harley Quinn…women who were smart, strong, and occasionally snarky.  Women who lived in a man’s world without apology and who never hid their intelligence.

Then, there was Black Canary.  Definitely smart and strong.  Could snark with the best of them, and do it wearing fishnets and thigh-highs without fear of being considered anyone’s princess waiting to be saved.  Black Canary was her own woman.

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry 5

So, what happens on ARROW, now that “Laurel Lance” is dead.  There are plenty of plausible options.

Producers have said that Laurel’s death will propel storylines into next season.  Many characters have died on ARROW, but none that were part of the team. Since Katie Cassidy is listed on the credits through the end of this season, there is a laundry list of possibilities.

Already slated for an upcoming guest role on VIXEN and to appear as doppelganger, “Black Siren,” from Earth-2 on the May 17th episode of THE FLASH, if “Laurel” is dead, could “Black Canary” survive?

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry 14

Hopefully.  The press release for the next episode, “Canary Cry,” indicates that Quentin (Paul Blackthorne) asks Nysssa (guest star Katrina Law) to bring back his daughter.  Nyssa is at Laurel’s funeral, so perhaps she has restored the Lazarus Pit and can bring back Black Canary, even if Laurel Lance must remain dead.

Bringing back Black Canary as a metahuman who is equal to Damien Dahrk’s (guest star Neal McDonough) magic could be an interesting concept.

Then, there is that moment where nobody knows what Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Laurel said, right before she coded.  Did they decide that “Laurel Lance” must “die” because Dahrk would continue to use her against Quentin, even after his testimony?

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry top

It is a possibility.  Check out the photo of Oliver in the cemetery.  He is standing next to a tombstone with the last name, “Clayton.”  Since Samantha and William are still alive and in hiding, is the entire cemetery just window dressing of the not-really-departed to keep them safe from Team Arrow’s enemies?

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry 3

The ramifications of Laurel’s death, real or faux, will have a huge impact on the team. Personal relationships will be altered.

The very real truth that, every time Team Arrow heads out for a fight means that one of them might not come back, will weigh heavy in their minds.

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry 2

Diggle (David Ramsey) will doubt his instincts after being fooled by Andy (guest star Eugene Byrd).

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry 4

Thea (Willa Holland) may suffer the loss so deeply that she lets Malcolm (John Barrowman) back into her life to fill an emotional void.

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry 1

Surely, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) will be drawn back to the team, perhaps donning the mantle of “Black Canary” herself, leaving Curtis (Echo Kellum) at the cyber-controls.  Could that chip implant turn a klutzy computer geek into a fighting machine?  Stranger things have happened.

Arrow photo commentary about 419 Canary Cry 16

In print, not only has there been more than one Black Canary, but Black Canary has died more than once and has had several different storylines.  The original Canary was Laurel’s mom, Dinah, who is seen at the funeral (guest star Alex Kingston).

Additionally, although this never has been explored on ARROW, Black Canary trained the Young Justice team.  Amell recently tweeted a welcome note to young actress, Madison McLaughlin, who played the spunky teen huntress, Krissy, on Supernatural.

While remote, the 20-year-old actress would be the right age to be one of the members of YJ, who theoretically could become a new Black Canary.

Birds of Prey comic

Then, there is my personal favorite theory…use Laurel’s death to free Black Canary to springboard a spinoff for a new BIRDS OF PREY, because the world needs more female heroes who are smart, strong, and on occasion, a bit snarky.

Regardless of what the next step is on this journey, the death of Laurel Lance already has impacted the Arrowverse.  Trends, tweets, treatises and even threats to stop watching the show are propelling the story into new directions.

While all of this is theory, the fact remains that killing Laurel Lance to propel the story, regardless of the fan reaction, took courage on the part of the producers and writers.

I think the smart money is on the writers.  They will not fail this series.

ARROW Sneak Peek: The Departed

April 6, 2016 By Melissa Smith Leave a Comment

arrow

Since the beginning of this season of ARROW, much has been made of the question, “Who is in the grave?”  Producers promise that the question is going to be answered tonight.

There certainly are more theories than answers.  The producers have promised a big change..the end of an era…with this episode.

Executive Producer Mark Guggenheim is co-writer (along with Keto Shimizu) of tonight’s episode, “Eleven-Fifty-Nine,” which presumably is the time of death.

When writing for DC Comics, Guggenheim was known to make drastic changes in the canon from time to time (check out the old Justice Society), so assumedly no one except Green Arrow is safe tonight.

Here are some random thoughts about the possibilities and the relationships.

There was a flash of a name on one of the gravestones by which Oliver stood.  On some stills, the last letters on the marker appeared to be “ayton.”  Oliver’s son, William, and William’s mother share the last name, “Clayton.”

There were 3 wreaths in the cemetery.  Does that indicate that William, Samantha and a member of Team ARROW possibly may meet their demise?

While it always is sad to see a TV child character get killed, frankly, I don’t care about William.  He hasn’t been on the canvas enough for me to establish a “relationship” with him.  If he or Samantha dies, I don’t have enough invested in either character to care.

Yes, maybe it will propel Oliver to kill Dahrk as a result, but after seeing Neil McDonough interact with a little girl at a recent convention, all I will get out of that scenario is that McDonough is a really good actor if he can make me believe that he would kill a kid.

As far as killing off Dahrk, I doubt if his death would have the huge impact on Team Arrow that is promised because the bad guy generally has a short shelf life. Ra’s al Ghul is immortal, and he’s gone.  Vandal Savage is immortal, but slated to take his leave from LEGENDS OF TOMORROW at the end of this season.  Audiences expect the villain to depart, so that doesn’t feel “epic” enough to change the team.

Another person in whom I’ve not had enough time to invest emotionally is Andy Diggle.  Don’t get me wrong.  I really enjoyed actor Eugene Byrd’s recurring stint on BONES, but if he gets “his” tonight, big whoop.  I have no doubt that Byrd could bring more to the character, but that takes time.

Speaking of the Diggle family, I don’t see Lyla (recurring guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) as a possibility.  They just put her in charge of A.R.G.U.S., so Warner’s Feature Division could snag the character of Amanda Waller for exclusive use in their films.  Why bother to give the job to Lyla then kill her?

Curtis/Mr. Terrific seems safe.  Portrayer Echo Kellum just got boosted to series regular for next season.

Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) was seen after the funeral in the limo with Oliver.  Unless that was his unconscious talking to him, she’s probably safe.  Of course, if it were his unconscious and not really Felicity, his brain probably would have put the engagement ring back on her finger.

Then, there’s Felicity’s mom.  Donna Smoak (guest star Charlotte Ross) has been getting more airtime lately, and her character is more audience-connected than William, Samantha or Andy, but to tout her death as having a major effect on the team as a whole seems like a stretch.

Felicity’s dad, Noah Kuttler (guest star Tom Amandes) seems like low risk.  Not only has he not had time to develop a relationship with the audience, his death certainly would not live up to the “epic loss” that is being predicted.

Furthermore, Amandes is slated to appear in the May 11 episode, “Monument Peak,” not coincidentally the same fictional location of Guggenheim’s shakeup of the Justice Society.  We’ve already seen Guggenheim’s tendency to tie in his past work into the canon when he gave Felicity the name, “Overwatch,” the title of a novel that he had written.

Although Nyssa is not a part of Team Arrow, I would hate for her to get dispatched.  Katrina Law (and her stunt doubles) always provide great fight sequences, and she really rocks the duster coat.  As far as non-regular cast members, she’s my favorite.  Besides, I don’t see Felicity being all that upset that Oliver’s “wife” is dead.

Diggle (David Ramsey) seems like a low possibility.  He was introduced on this show as a character specifically for the TV series having never been in the comics.  Why go to all the trouble to introducing a new character only to kill him off?

Plus, Oliver needs Diggle to keep ARROW on the path of redemption, not retribution.  Besides, Ramsey is such an audience favorite that killing off the character only might work for fans if Warners gave Ramsey the John Stewart role in GREEN LANTERN CORPS.

Thea (Willa Holland) also seems out of the running for the grave.  She’s already died once.  It they wanted to be rid of her, they could have just left her dead.

Malcolm had more impact in previous seasons.  Sending him off to be the new Ra’s made him less invested in the “dad department.”  His ties to the team are weakened, so for me, his death would not be epic, just irritating. I absolutely love John Barrowman and would rather see him integrated into the team, either as the main scenery-chewing villain or as a hero.  Either option is preferable to killing him off.

Quentin Lance is a definite possibility in my mind.  He’s become the moral compass of the floundering team, even giving up his career and risking jail time to do the right thing.

My based-on-supposition-only thinking on this is that his portrayer, Paul Blackthorne, is British and has three non-ARROW projects slated for this year, all helmed by British production companies.  If he wanted to leave Vancouver for his homeland, I would miss Quentin, but be happy for Paul.  Of course, there are those pesky leaked pictures showing him in the cemetery, past and future, so maybe he’s safe.

Much has been made of those leaked photos of Katie Cassidy’s appearance at one funeral, which seems to be Sara’s in flashback (Quentin has hair in those photos).  She also is slated for a crossover with VIXEN, and has an upcoming guest shot on THE FLASH as an alternate Earth version of Black Canary named “Black Siren.”

This is where I’m going to go against fan wishes.  I love the Felicity character, and she brings a lot to the team, as does Rickards.

BUT, decades of comic books have Green Arrow linked romantically to Black Canary, except Cassidy hasn’t been given the chance to develop the “Canary-ish-ness” of her comic book counterpart.  We all know that, based on her portrayal of “Ruby” on SUPERNATURAL, Cassidy could be full-on Canary with a little character development.

It may be too late to bolster THIS Laurel Lance into the comic book version, but killing her off and importing a stronger version from another Earth could work.  It also could give Oliver a new woman to fall in love with and put the pain of his breakup with Felicity behind him.

Regardless, can the TV series continue to fly in the face of a decades-long canon without hardcore fans starting to complain?  Maybe.  If there are any plans for Black Canary to be in either of the upcoming Justice League movies, how will DC Entertainment handle competing canons on Green Arrow’s relationships?

Besides, I’m still rooting for Felicity, Huntress and Vixen to bond into the BIRDS OF PREY.

Guggenheim has done some major character redirects in the past.  Maybe it’s time for one more.

Tonight’s ARROW was directed by Rob Hardy and airs at 8:00 p.m. on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS Sneak Peeks: When The Saints Go Marching In

April 5, 2016 By Melissa Smith Leave a Comment

NCIS NOLA photo 2e20 Second Line

Tonight’s NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, may have viewers thinking that they accidentally have tuned in to SUPERNATURAL, THE ORIGINALS, The History Channel or COPS.

When a Navy Lieutenant is murdered during a funeral procession for a Navy Reservist, the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS team must determine if the two are connected.

When questions arise about grave robbing, a 300-year-old murder weapon, suspects who might be interested in procuring old bones, and the theft of artifacts from a cemetery start showing up in the evidence, it is unclear if the perpetrators are linked to the stolen antiquities trade, witchcraft or something else.

The title of tonight’s episode is “Second Line,” which refers to a New Orleans tradition of the “happier” parade that follows the “main line” parade during a funeral.  In its roots, the main line was the sad part of a parade, sometimes carrying the coffin, but mourning the departed with dirges.

Following the main line is the “second line” parade.  This is the part of the procession often depicted in the media as “jazz funerals,” and has a brass band, dancing, revelry, and walkers twirling parasols or handkerchiefs.  While participants in the main line generally know the deceased, passersby, tourists, and even Navy Lieutenants can join the second line procession, which is more joyous and tends to celebrate life rather than to mourn death.

Brass bands celebrations are just one of the unusual things associated with the Crescent City.  The beautiful cemeteries located above ground due to flooding and the near-to-or-below sea level have become a target for tomb raiders who steal antiquities at night despite some cemeteries locking up at dusk.

Founded May 7, 1718, by the French Mississippi Company, under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville, the city was named for Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, who was Regent of the Kingdom of France at the time.  Jean-Baptiste was governor of the colony for over 30 years.

A character named Karl Baptiste (guest star Darri Ingolfsson), a distant relative of Jean-Baptiste, is part of tonight’s investigation.  With a family that dates back to the area for 300 years, Karl may have insight into the case.  The character’s family was responsible for establishing colonies in Mobile, Alabama and Biloxi, Mississippi in addition to New Orleans.

Called “The Father of New Orleans,” Jean-Baptiste wrote in 1717 that he had discovered a crescent bend in the Mississippi River, which might make the area less susceptible to hurricanes and tidal surges.  While that bend has not protected New Orleans from either, the nickname “Crescent City” stuck around.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS stars Scott Bakula, Lucas Black, Zoe McLellan, Rob Kerkovich, Shalita Grant, Daryl ‘Chill’ Mitchell and CCH Pounder.

Guest stars include Gary Basaraba, Bert Belasco, Devyn Tyler, Davin Smith, Silas Cooper, Kate Adair and Chauncey Slack.  “Second Line” was written by Nancylee Myatt and directed by Tony Wharmby.

Grave robbing, beautiful scenery, history and folklore, murder at a funeral and maybe a splash of historic New Orleans witchcraft?

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS airs tonight (April 5) at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the United States and on Global TV in Canada.
