In a recent exclusive interview with theTVaddict.com, Tyler Blackburn shared what his new webseries WENDY is about and how he came to be a part of the Peter Pan mythology.
Because of his work on PRETTY LITTLE LIARS (which is also produced by Alloy), when Tyler heard about the innovative webseries, he jumped at the chance to be a part of it. He was particularly drawn to the role because the Disney film Peter Pan was one of his favorite films growing up. And because Alloy produces both PRETTY LITTLE LIARS and GOSSIP GIRL, it was no surprise that they selected Tyler to be their leading man – especially if those swooning hearts from the Caleb-Hanna romance on PRETTY LITTLE LIARS are any indication! All Tyler had to do was show up, audition and get the part. He makes it sound so easy, but life for the young actor already feels a bit dream-worthy. Two plum roles within a year is a dream-come-true. [Read more…]

From FALLING SKIES to Film Fests, We Shine the Spotlight on Star Connor Jessup

Like any young actor fresh off a spectacular first season of a hit television series and about to debut his first independent film at the Toronto International Film Festival, Connor Jessup is a live-wire of energy and enthusiasm. In an exclusive interview with theTVaddict.com, Connor shared what it was like to portray Ben, Tom Mason’s son rescued from the Skitters, on FALLING SKIES and a bit about his passion project, the independent film “Amy George.”
Now that the first season of FALLING SKIES has concluded, maybe you could comment on what it was like to portray a character torn between two allegiances – Ben’s love for his family and the genetic emotional-pull instilled by the Skitters?
CONNOR: It was great! Really, really great. When a character has a conflict like that–a sort of emotional tug of war–it means that that character comes pre-stocked with depth and dimension, which makes my job a lot of fun (and a lot easier)! The hardest part of playing conflict like that is to try to avoid it coming off too angst-ridden, because that quickly becomes stupendously boring to watch. [Read more…]
The Doctor and River Song: Time Travellers Caught Up in the Ultimate Star-Crossed Love Affair on DOCTOR WHO

When a star-crossed romance becomes a time-crossed romance, it feels somehow more heart-felt and tragic. How would you feel to meet the love of your life, only to find out that you are traveling in opposite directions across each other’s timelines? For The Doctor and River Song, it means that as The Doctor gets older, he continues to meet River at younger and younger ages. Such as, his first meeting with her was the last time that she would see him; and as River gets older, each time she meets The Doctor, he knows her less and less.
We first met River Song, like The Doctor, in Steven Moffat’s two-part episode story “Silence in the Library” and “Forest of the Dead.” River greeted The Doctor as if she had known him all of her life, and yet he was just meeting her for the first time. The old-soul sadness in her eyes spoke volumes. River knew that if he had not met her before, that this was the end of her life span. For that was their destined fate: they would meet each other at the beginning and end of each other’s timelines. [Read more…]

What can you share about the character Cornell, which you are playing on HAVEN?
CRISTIÁN: It was a great challenge and I don’t want to give too much about the character because there’s going to be a lot of surprises that you’re going to find out during the episode. But it’s not your average evil twin story — it’s that incarnation of all your bad thoughts. That one day you wake up and you’re facing them. All your thoughts are materialized in a person that looks exactly like you and you’re confronted by them. [Read more…]
