Tomorrow, the TV addict has been lucky enough to be invited to take part in a press conference about NBC’s upcoming new show HEROES. Taking part in the event will be showrunner Tim Kring, as well as actors Greg Grunberg and Masi Oka. I’d love to get some great questions from fans, so please post below, or feel free to email me at info@thetvaddict.com

Ask the TV addict….
Welcome to the newest feature on theTVaddict.com — ASK THE TV ADDICT (Snazzy new logo coming soon!). Post away with your burning TV-related questions and I’ll do my very best to answer them. I’ve got tons of scoop on the new Fall shows, returning favourites and a general wealth of TV info to share. Answers will be posted in a weekly column (not to be confused with that other weekly TV column… seriously, this is a totally original idea, no asterik quizzes… I’ll be using hyphens, far cooler!). Fashion Rocks The House
Talk about your simple concept: Beautiful people do ugly things.
That’s pretty much the entire premise behind MyNetwork TV’s telenovela FASHION HOUSE, in which models boff artists, secretaries bed bosses and a day without a bitchslap is like a day without sunshine. This is the kind of sudsy saga which gives soaps a good name, and could, in all honesty, teach its daytime counterparts a thing or two about how to hook – and keep – an audience. Because one thing the folks behind this show know is that to keep people coming back five nights a week – which is perhaps the biggest challenge faced by the upstart network – you gotta keep ’em wanting more. And when done right, that’s what soaps are all about.
Fortunately, FH knows better than to take itself too seriously. As in the Spanish telenovelas on which MyNetwork’s offerings are based, FH proves there is no room for mellow in melodrama. Every back has a knife sticking out of it, each (bra) cup is overflowing and if a character is holding a champagne glass when the scene begins, chances are it’ll be flung at someone before it ends. This ain’t your grandma’s soap opera.
Some OFFICE Fun!
If you’re bored at work, use the office line to dial 1-800-984-DMPC (3672). USA TODAY’S POPCANDY found the number in The Office: Severance Package DVD set. The set comes with a Dunder-Mifflin notepad, Post-Its, a calendar and a business card for Dwight Shrute, which includes this number. The message includes a pretty funny away message and info about a paper deal you won’t want to miss!
My Take on TV: Degrassi TNG
“Whatever it takes…I know I can make it through…”
Well, I am officially all caught up on 5 seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation and I could not be happier. What started as an evening of watching the show because I was trying to stay awake one night while babysitting, has quickly turned into an addiction that I didn’t know I would experience for a little show like this!
After having seen the season finale of Season 5, and having turned my roommate into a D:TNG addict in the process, I am so excited for the premiere of Season 6, and I want to reflect on 10 things that keep me coming back to this charming little show –

Your TV Favourites in Syndication
With the fall season almost upon us, television’s publicity machine has kicked into high gear. Promos and billboards are blitzing the major media markets, ensuring that every man, woman and child knows that GREY’S ANATOMY has moved to Thursday night at 9pm and that it’s ‘cool to be girlie’ on the CW (Seriously, that’s the best the CW could come up with?)
Yet with the continuous and never-ending media hype surrounding the prime-time schedule, it’s the syndicated market that’s often pushed to the background. This fall, some fantastic television will begin their run in syndication. Ensuring a place in our hearts, and our TIVO’s for an entire season. So grab a pencil [or bookmark this page], as theTVaddict.com proudly presents its helpful guide to what’s new in syndication this fall.
EVERWOOD may have been unjustly cancelled by the now defunct WB network, but you can catch it from the beginning Mondays at 8pm & 12pm and Saturdays at 8pm on VISION TV (Rogers channel 860 in Canada). U.S. viewers can watch the show on ABC FAMILY starting October 2
Fall TV Preview 2006: Battlestar Galactica
At July’s San Diego Comic Convention, Edward James Olmos (Admiral Adama) had this to say when discussing the much anticipated third season of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: “Man, it’s brutal. I can honestly tell you the first two years cannot prepare you for what happens in the third. Not even close. The third season is dark… the darkest we’ve ever gotten”.
Having just viewed the first five episodes of season three, this TV addict can’t help but think the actor may have been understating the case just a tad: The third season of BSG is intense, terrifying and might — were we talking about any other show — be difficult for viewers to watch. But let’s not forget that we’re talking about the series so cool as to have single-handedly made science fiction hot again by taking a tired genre and infusing it with a combination of excitement and relevance that reminds us just how powerful the genre can be.
