Got A Question for Ed Helms?
Do you ever sit at your desk and wish you worked in the warehouse? Secretly fantasize about falling in love with your office receptionist? Wish your boss was as ‘entertaining’ as Michael Scott? Well if so, you may be suffering from a common disease that’s infecting office workers across America — LACKAOFFICEITUS.
In layman’s terms, LACKAOFFICEITUS is simply a mild case of depression brought on by the fact that we won’t be getting new episodes of THE OFFICE until September. While there is no cure, doctors (who are in no way getting paid for this) suggest checking out EVAN ALMIGHTY as a possible remedy.
That said, we at theTVAddict.com have something to help you get through the summer. How does an interview with Andy Bernard sound? (also known as the brilliant Ed Helms.) Post away with your questions and remember, there’s only 103 more days until a new episode of THE OFFICE*
*Note: the number 103 has been completely fabricated for the sake of this post, please do not mark your calendars just yet!
Help Cast SMALLVILLE’S SuperGirl
Hoping to inject some new life into an already aging franchise, the CW announced yesterday that SuperGirl would be joining the cast of SMALLVILLE next season. Yes, SMALLVILLE has officially run out of ideas. Yet rather then rip the show for going to the ‘superhero well’ once again (see: last season’s addition of Green Arrow), we thought we’d think positive and offer up a few SUPER suggestions for who we would like to see in the role of SuperGirl come September 2007.
Naturally, the first name that comes to mind is an adorable and feisty detective who unfortunately finds herself among the ranks of the recently unemployed. Yes, we realize Kristen Bell isn’t from Krypton, but really, isn’t Neptune close enough?
Second on our list is a more unconventional choice, but a casting coup nonetheless. Not only would Liza Weil bring some serious acting chops to SMALLVILLE, we’re confident that by channelling her inner Paris Geller, krypto-freaks don’t stand a chance.
A few more choices include TRU CALLING’S Eliza Dushku (hottest SuperGirl ever!), Amanda Seyfriend (love her on BIG LOVE) or Gabriel Union (isn’t about time the whitest city in America — Smallville, KS — got a little more diverse?)
Agree, disagree, post away with who you would like to see as next season’s SuperGirl. And no, this girl is not an option!
Amrie’s Take on TV: CLARK AND MICHAEL
You guys know me, right? You know what I like on TV, right? So you all know that my favorite thing about my favorite show, Arrested Development, was the amazing and adorably spot-on hilarious George Michael Bluth, played by Michael Cera, right?
Imagine my sheer delight when I found out about the most amazing website I’ve visited in a long time (besides thetvaddict.com of course), where CBS has produced and is airing what they call a “microseries”, 10 episodes of a television show about two sad-sack roommates attempting to sell their idea for a television show.
That website? Clarkandmichael.com
The sad sack roommates? Michael Cera (or as the credits call him “Mikey Cera”) and his real life best friend Clark Duke.
The microseries, which started as Clark’s thesis project in college, deals with Michael and Clark living in an apartment, trying their hardest to get these scripts out to producers throughout LA. These two guys have their own headshots littering the walls of their apartment. Their quirky personalities and just all out “we are awesome, we will succeed attitude” makes me so happy and provides plenty of hilarious, awkward situations for the two of them to get stuck in.
Michael Cera, who just recently turned 19 years old, and Clark Duke, who also stars in the new ABC Family show “Greek”, are fabulous together. I’ve said over and over again that very few people can pull of the awkward reaction shots and awkward uncomfortable humor like Michael can. Together with Clark, and his darling southern accent, I’ve found myself unable to contain fits of laughter each and every time I watch the show.
Just a few things that I love about the three episodes I’ve seen so far and some reasons for you to tune in –

Raise Your Hand…
JOHN FROM CINCINNATI
Raise your hand if have absolutely no idea what last night’s premiere of JOHN FROM CINCINNATI was about.
Raise your hand if you’re so confused by Papa Yost’s inexplicable ability to levitate himself off the ground that you may actually give this series another chance.
Raise your hand if you don’t even care what’s going on, but are now really inspired to learn how to surf.
2007 TONY AWARDS
Raise your hand if you’re annoyed that CBS didn’t pony up the money to broadcast last night’s Tony Awards in High Definition.
Raise your hand if you think SPRING AWAKENING is the most over-hyped Broadway musical ever and you don’t understand (because you’re not fourteen) why exactly watching teeangers embrace their sexuality has been hailed as the ‘second-coming of the modern musical?
BIG LOVE
Raise your hand if you’re excited for tonight’s long awaited return of BIG LOVE?
Raise your hand if you actually started to raise you hand while reading this post.
Raise your hand if your co-workers are starting to stare.
A SOPRANOS Confession
On the eve of THE SOPRANOS series finale, this TV Addict has to get something off his chest. Something so shocking, it may rock the very foundation that theTVaddict.com has built its reputation on. Ready? Here it goes…
I’ve never watched an entire episode of THE SOPRANOS! Yes, you heard me. The man who runs a web site entirely devoted to television hasn’t watched one of the most celebrated series on TV.
Now that I’ve got that off my chest (really, admitting I have a problem is the first step) , I’m curious… Is anyone brave enough to reveal that they too have yet to fall in love with America’s most wanted popular family? Post away below and feel free to let me know if I should give season one another try on DVD over the summer.
Why I’m Not Supporting Barsformars.com
This morning, theTVaddict received an urgent email from the recently revived ‘Save Veronica Mars Campaign.’ The email requested that theTVaddict.com promote the website BarsforMars.com.
Aside from the fact that the email failed to include the word
A total lack of originality
One of the appeals of both VERONICA MARS the show, and the title character herself were their uniqueness and originality. Amidst an endless sea of blonde Neptune clones, Veronica marched to the beat of her own drummer. BarsforMars.com is a too-little-too-late pale imitation of JERICHO’s recently successful Nuts for Jericho campaign. Not cool MARS fans, not cool.
Where are the MARS bars?
Apparently, Mars bars are no longer available in the US leading the BarsforMars.com campaign to switch over to Snickers Bars. Now, I may not the most savvy MARS fan around, but I don’t recall Snickers ever playing a role in the show. Unless of course the original title for the series was going to be VERONICA SNICKERS, which let’s face it, may not have the same ring to it, but kinda works. After-all, Veronica did spend three seasons ‘snickering’ at everyone around her.
Just because it worked for JERICHO…
… doesn’t mean it’s going to work for VERONICA MARS. In fact, I’ll go as far to say that this campaign is a complete waste of everybody’s time and money. As much I loved VERONICA MARS, the show had its chance. It was given three seasons to prove that it could expand beyond its fiercely loyal fan-base, yet failed to do so each and every year. JERICHO on the other hand had a mere season under its belt — a season that CBS itself admits to completely mishandling with an ill advised three month delay between episodes.
Dawn Ostroff made the right call
If Dawn Ostroff didn’t notice when EVERWOOD fans dragged a life-sized ferris wheel to her office doorstep, she’s certainly not going to care if someone delivers a few boxes of chocolate to her lobby. Fans tend to forget that Ostroff’s primary job as head of the CW is to develop exciting new shows that advertisers will buy into. Having seen the entire CW fall lineup — including the already addictive GOSSIP GIRL, the original and funny REAPER and the network’s soon-to-be first bonafide comedy hit ALIENS IN AMERICA — this TV Addict doesn’t fault Ostroff for cancelling VERONICA MARS.
That said, who am I to tell fans how to spend their precious time, energy and hard-earned money. What I will say is this: In the end the only winner to come out of this campaign will be The Indian Food Store. Call me cynical, but how much money (and free advertising) are they getting off Barsformars.com?
Jenny’s This Week on TV
Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! WE DID IT! Thank you to all the fans, new and old, of Jericho that helped by donating peanuts, sending letters, making calls & more to help save one of my favorite shows ever! If you HAVEN’T watched this show yet, take an hour, for me, and watch on CBS.com. I know that you can’t watch it on there if you aren’t from the US, but check it out on iTunes. You won’t regret it! Let’s see what’s up for this 2nd full week of June, shall we?

Soap Singers to Make Beautiful Music Together
If you’re going to be in L.A. for the Daytime Emmys next week, you’ve got to be at the world-famous Derby on Thursday night: ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Kathy Brier (the Hairspray star who plays schoolteacher Marcie) is teaming up with castmates Kassie DePaiva (scheme queen Blair) and Renee Elise Goldsberry (poor, comatose Evangeline) for a kickass three-in-one concert!
“We’ve never done a fan event like this before where we have all teamed up for a joint show,” Brier tells thetvaddict.com. “I am so psyched about sharing the stage with these two other stellar women!”
Amen to that! Not only will Brier be performing songs from her rockin’ debut album, Heartbreaker, but DePaiva will be warbling tunes from her new release, I Want to Love You, and Goldsberry, tracks from her CD, Beautiful. And there’s no telling what surprises they’ll throw in!
“It’s great to get to do this event in L.A., too,” New York-based Brier adds. “There aren’t a lot of fan events held in L.A., so we are looking forward to kicking off the Emmy weekend with a really fun time and hope to see the fans.
“Also,” she teases, “you never know who else might show from the show.”
Tickets ($50 each for the show and post-concert photo/autograph session, $76 each for the show, photo/autograph session and a copy of each actress’ CD) are available at: www.clubderby.com.
TV Bloggers Look Forward to the Fall Season
When MeeVee wanted the inside scoop on the good, bad and ugly with respect to the upcoming Fall television season, they asked the experts. Josh Lasser (Blogcritics), Aaron Bernhart (TVBarn), Kathie Skerry (GMMR), Maureen Ryan (The Watcher) and your very own TV Addict were all asked to give our two cents on what fall show we were most looking forward to and why? You can check out our answers by clicking here.
And yes, it goes without saying that I’m officially the biggest TV nerd ever. Why? Well let’s just say it made my weekend to be placed alongside the likes of the Chicago Tribune’s Maureen Ryan and Aaron Bernhart (the original TV blogger).
