Catch the Final Episodes of DRIVE Online
Looking to catch the final two episodes of DRIVE? Get ready to start your engines… or more specifically, your DSL connection. Turns out, thanks to FOX’s scheduling ‘brilliance’, the only highway you’ll be able to catch DRIVE on is the information superhighway. Starting July 16, DRIVE will be available online at myspace.com/fox and FOX affiliate websites.
Two episodes not enough for you? Wishing you could have learned what twists and turns were in store for our intrepid racers assuming FOX bothered to support and/or promote this entertaining little series. Head on over to drivefans.com for a fantastic wrap up interview with executive producers Tim Minear and Craig Silverstein. Thanks again FOX for denying television fans one helluva exciting ride.
DRIVE UPDATE FOR CANADIAN FANS: According to a representative at CTV, the Canadian Television Network has no plans to air the final episodes of DRIVE on their CTV Broadband network. So if you’re north of the border, it looks like you’re pretty much out of luck.
Some Super Casting News
SMALLVILLE has found its SuperGirl and much to this TV Addict’s chagrin, series creator Al Gough decided to ignore your brilliant casting advice. Virtual unknown (unless you’re a fan of INSTANT STAR) Laura Vandervoort has been cast as Kara (SuperGirl). Fans can get a closer look at Ms. Vandervoort’s, err assets, at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con where Vandervoort will be joining SMALLVILLE executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar for an audience Q&A.
In more super casting news, SUPERNATURAL is finally adding some Y chromosome to equal the X that is Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. According to SuperScooper Michael Ausiello:
Katie Cassidy — the 20-year-old daughter of ’70s teen idol David Cassidy — has been tapped to play Ruby, a fellow demon hunter Sam and Dean meet in the show’s third season premiere. In the casting breakdown, the character is described as “sexy, brutal and ruthless.”
As of yet, there’s no word on which lucky actress has won the role of Bela, that other Demon Hunter. But one thing is a given. Almost any regular reader of theTVaddict.com would sell their soul to the yellow-eyed-demon for the chance to spend nine months on a cramped Vancouver set with Sam and Dean.
First Look: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA RAZOR
First Look: DEXTER Season 2
After far too long a wait, DEXTER — last season’s most addictive new drama returns to Showtime this September. While spoilers are scarce as to what fans can expect from the upcoming season, Executive Producer Daniel Cereone did reveal this at March’s Paley Festival Panel:
“Going into the second season we think we have something equally compelling [as the Ice-Truck Kilelr]. Basically Dexter’s search for meaning. Who am I? What is my purpose? Ultimately leading to questions of good and evil. This season we want to bring that question to the forefront. Why is he here? Who is he? What is his purpose?” Added Harry’s fictional father James Remar, “Harry’s Badddd.”

‘Critics’ Pick TV’s Best & Worst, We Disagree
This week TVWeek.com released their ‘Best and Worst’ of the 2006/07 television season after polling thirty-five of the top TV critics throughout North America. Needless to say, this TV Addict has some serious issues with this poll, not the least of which is that nobody asked us for our opinion.
Let’s start with the good. Overall, the top twenty-two include a nice mix of perennial winners (THE SOPRANOS, LOST), freshman hits (BROTHERS & SISTERS, HEROES, UGLY BETTY, 30 ROCK) and under-appreciated gems (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE).
What was missing from the list? How about HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, SCRUBS and WEEDS — three of television’s most brilliant comedies. As well as DEXTER, the most compelling and addictive drama to reach the airwaves in years. All four picks could have quite easily replaced four dramas who continually manage to live off the hype of their past brilliance (GREY’S ANATOMY, BOSTON LEGAL, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and VERONICA MARS).
Moving onto ‘the worst’, we’re surprised to find OCTOBER ROAD, 24 and THE BLACK DONNELLYS at the top of the list. Sure, it’s pretty trendy to rip on 24 (after its weakest season yet) and we’ll conceded that THE BLACK DONNELLYS was no SOPRANOS, but to name them the worst? Over all the reality TV garbage and insipid ABC sitcoms that clutter our airwaves? Talk about harsh. It goes without saying that if torture’s the goal — we’d rather be tied to a chair watching Jack Bauer for twenty-four hours than ACCORDING TO JIM, GEORGE LOPEZ, TWO AND A HALF MEN, well you get the idea.

Conchita Campbell Spills the Secrets of THE 4400
It’s that time of the week again – the time when I get to indulge in some groveling at the feet of some of my favorite people on TV, so that you can get a little insight into the world of our favorite shows! This week’s “victim?” Conchita Campbell, the absolutely darling 11-year-old Maia Rutledge Skouris, from USA’s The 4400. Frequent readers of the site know that I’ve got a not so secret obsession with this show, so imagine my surprise and delight when I got the opportunity to shoot the breeze with Conchita during some of her downtime.
Amrie: It’s so exciting to be talking to you. You’re just this young girl, but you captivate me as a viewer. What is your favorite thing to play about Maia?
Conchita: I love everything about Maia. She’s a great little girl. She’s a sweet girl. She’s really old, but only 11 years old. I think that’s what I like about Maia. I also like that she’s like old fashioned and stuff. I also like how Maia tries to get to know how to live in the 21st century.
You started out in the business at a very young age, what advice do you have for someone that starts at your age?
Basically, feel the role. Have fun with it. Think about how you would feel, what happens to you, and let it come out naturally.
How much of you goes into Maia? Is it a lot of Conchita in there?
Not really. [laughs] Me and Maia aren’t really the same. I was never abducted, I’m not adopted. My parents aren’t dead. [both Conchita and I start laughing and don’t stop until she finishes her answer]. There is some of the same stuff. We’re both the same age, we both look the same. It’s not that much of me in Maia. It’s how I act it.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not shooting?
I love to ski. I also love hanging out with my friends. Just hanging out, and doing like girl stuff, and stuff like that. I like going on hikes.
Got a Question for Ed Helms?
Do you ever sit at your desk and wish you worked in the warehouse? Secretly fantasize about falling in love with your office receptionist? Wish your boss was as ‘entertaining’ as Michael Scott? Well if so, you may be suffering from a common disease that’s infecting office workers across America — LACKAOFFICEITUS.
In layman’s terms, LACKAOFFICEITUS is simply a mild case of depression brought on by the fact that we won’t be getting new episodes of THE OFFICE until September. While there is no cure, doctors (who are in no way getting paid for this) suggest checking out EVAN ALMIGHTY as a possible remedy.
That said, we at theTVAddict.com have something to help you get through the summer. How does an interview with Andy Bernard sound? (also known as the brilliant Ed Helms.) Amrie [of My Take on TV fame] is interviewing Mr. Helms tomorrow and would love to get some fantastic questions by the ultimate OFFICE addicts — the fans. So post away with your questions and remember, there’s only 90 more days until a new episode of THE OFFICE*
*Note: the number 90 has been completely fabricated for the sake of this post, please do not mark your calendars just yet!
Bad News for KYLE XY Fans
First we can’t buy an iPhone, now this! If you’re like this TV Addict [Canadian] or simply lack ABC Family among your five hundred channel universe, you’re officially out of luck when it comes to discovering the truth about KYLE XY. Due to lower than expected ratings, ABC has yanked repurposed episodes of the show that were airing on ABC Friday nights. Thus, from here on in, the only way to catch the adventure is on ABC Family or by purchasing episodes on iTunes for $1.99 each. Wondering what’s replacing KYLE on this Friday on ABC? GEORGE LOPEZ. Hey, it could be worse — at least we’re not being force fed a second serving of ACCORDING TO JIM.
