Still reeling from NBC’s shabby treatment of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS? Well, we’ve got some exciting news that may put a smile on your face. No, FNL has not been officially picked up for a third season and unfortunately Ben Silverman has not been fired from his post as Peacock President. But trust us, this is almost as good.

The TV Addict Hates Vegetables
Ready for a shocking confession from the TV Addict?
[Brace yourself]
I don’t eat vegetables.
Now you’re probably asking yourself, “Ummm… TV Addict, what exactly do your dietary habits have to do with television?”
Well my friends, I’m about to tell you.
It recently occurred to me that I’m not getting any younger. And as a result, I probably should stop eating like I’m still fifteen years old.
Unfortunately, endless amounts of burgers, fries, chicken strips and pizza [cue Homer Simpson impression: Mmmmmmm Pizza Hut Cheesy Bites”] are not part of a Canada’s Healthy Food Guide. And odds are good, that if I keep this up, I may find myself six feet under far earlier than expected.
So as of late, I’ve slowly attempted to introduce these crazy things called ‘fruit’ into my diet. Pathetically attempted to cut down on my other addiction french fries and switched from white bread to whole grain for my daily intake of grilled cheese.
Baby steps I know. But you got to start somewhere, right?
Which brings me to the reason for this post.

You Be the Critic: TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES
Future Kyle Reese! Derek Reese! Andy Goode! Cameron! Raise your hand if your head is still spinning from last night’s time-travelling, flash-forwarding, paradox laden installment of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES?
Yes, I realize I’m supposed to love this show with every fiber of my being considering high octane, action packed TV seems to be losing the war to this TV Addict’s sworn nemesis reality television. But even so, last night’s installment, while still enjoyable, simply offered up one too many head-scratching paradoxes.
Can someone with a Ph.D. in everything TERMINATOR please take a moment to explain the following things:
TV For Canadian Eyes Only
While the focus of this site is predominantly on American television, every so often this proud-to-be-Canadian TV Addict likes to take a moment to highlight some of the must see TV that makes its way North of the 49th parallel.
When it comes to tonight’s series premiere of DAMAGES, one thing is for certain. You may inititally tune into the show for Glenn Close’s Golden Globe winning performance as morally ambiguous legal beagle Patty Hewes. But you’ll stick around thanks to a stellar supporting cast (or more specifically to watch Ted Danson prove there’s life after CHEERS) and enough twists and turns that you’ll soon be scratching your head and wondering whether you’re watching LOST in a courtroom. (DAMAGES airs on Mondays at 10PM on Showcase)\

You Be the Critic: KNIGHT RIDER
Before reading this TV Addict’s rant with regards to last night’s special two-hour KNIGHT RIDER movie there are three things you should know. Firstly, having missed the original series by a few years, I have absolutely no warm and fuzzy feelings of nostalgia for the original Hasselhoff’s vehicle. Second, I’m still angry at NBC Ben Silverman for his recent comments with regards to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. And finally, I’m not ten years old anymore. Which would most likely explain why I may never tune into NBC on Sunday night ever again.
Two hours of AMERICAN GLADIATORS followed by what amounted to be a glorified car commercial for the Ford Mustang. My dear NBC…. what have you let yourself become?
Between the endless shots of KITT which had me wondering how much Ford paid for this infomercial, to the absolutely inane banter between the show’s reluctant heroine Sarah and the incredibly boring KITT (voiced by the snooze inducing Val Kilmer), this TV Addict spent most of the show’s second hour regretting my choice to record ABC’s BROTHERS & SISTERS.
Here’s hoping when NBC reveals their Fall 2008 lineup, fans everywhere are not stuck uttering the words, “They cancelled FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS for this?”

Jenny’s TV Guide: Sunday February 17
Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! Lots of good stuff on this week. And since the writer’s strike is over and we are going to be seeing the return of many of our favorites in a couple of months, it’s time to celebrate. So let’s get to it and see what’s going on, shall we?
Sunday marks the two-hour movie (which may be turned into a series assuming you all tune in) of Knight Rider. Will this re-imagination be BIONIC WOMAN bad or BATTLESTAR GALACTICA good, find out for yourself on NBC at 9/8c (Global TV in Canada)
It’s also the network premiere of Dexter on CBS at 10/9c. If you haven’t caught this show before, NOW IS THE TIME! It is so terrific. I’ve heard they didn’t ruin it by having to tone parts down when they took it off cable, so… Definitely check it out!
